Chafing ..help

Recommended Posts

I'm 8 weeks post op & am starting to amp up my workouts now. The problem is I am chafing really bad under my lower stomach. Has anyone else had this issue & if so, how did you solve it? Thanks in advance for any help.

I used cornstarch powder, and that helped a lot...I also recall that there was this anti-chafing gel they sold at the drugstore near where they sell the feminine care products...not all stores carried it but when I could find it, that was a great product

Monistat sells an anti-chafing gel. I use it for that and it works GREAT. No odor, no staining and it lasts all day. I didn't like powder because it got on everything, and it wears off when you sweat. The gel doesn't. My drugstore carries it on the feminine care aisle, and you can order it from drugstore.com online.

I like to ride bicycles on long trips. I like to mix a little noxema and vaseline together. Lasts for a long time, pretty inexpensive and no chaffing. At least give it a try. It doesnt take much. Good luck

Sounds crazy, but I wear compression shirts all the time. When I had a large amount hanging over before surgery, I would tuck the compression shirt under my belly, creating a smooth layer of fabric between my lower area and my belly. Now, thank God, I don't have this issue.

Have you tried medicated powder in the area before you begin working out?

Gold Bond makes a product called "Friction Stick" and it works wonderfully. It looks just like a stick of deodorant.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
