I went through that especially with the ice chips. I let my ice turn into Water, drank a sip then puked blood. I think all what your vomiting has to come up, and the nurse told my blood wont digest so it was to come up. But the contrast was the very first thing to stay down and after I finished the leak test I was able to eat, very little, like a popsicle and some juice. I had to take it really easy eating because I felt like I wanted to vomit, but it managed to stay down. A was feeling better and better the more that stood down. That afternoon I was up and about and was able to go home. I also had slacked up on the medicine I was getting through the iv. Dont know if that helped, but they were pumping me up too much with meds. Hang in there, you will get better! Are you vomiting any blood? If so, u might let all that come up and maybe you will be able to keep some stuff down. (My opinion). Try to take short walks every few hrs, it helps. Good luck :)

I'm a week and a half out. I feel like I stretched out my sleeve. I can drink Water regularly ( without taking sips) and it barely hurts. I just get a little gassy. Did I mess myself up"?

19 days post op today. Down 19.5 lbs since surgery. Saw surgeon today, he said everything looked great, continue on puréed foods & follow with nutritionist. See him again in December! Unless problems arise. Only bummer of the day was he wants me to stay off work for full 6 weeks, since I was revised from lap band and do excessive lifting, bending, reaching etc for my job. I was hoping for return after 4 weeks, my bank account is shrinking faster than I am :/

Congrats to all the newbies, and I would first all like to apologize to anyone I have offended. I did not mean it to come across that way. I type in caps to emphasis, not yell, I know how important this surgery is to all. I was a stroke victim waiting to happen, my PCP even told me that I was being Pro active by having this surgery. I had the surgery 4 months after my mom passed away from you guessed it .... strokes. .... I wish you all the best and success....

Ok...so I just had a melt down. Radiating pain coming from my tummy and I cannot eat or drink anything accept the Protein flavored water. I don't want to lose my hair. I cannot get anything sweet past my lips without gagging. Im avoiding puking too. Just to hiccup hurts. I can't imagine enduring that pain. I emailed my Dietician, but she hasn't emailed me back. I'm able to get enough liquids to avoid dehydration, but I know I need protein to achieve the results I am wanting with my skin, hair, and nails. Ok...I'm done ranting.

Im a week and a day out. I can almost drink without sipping and it doesn't hurt anymore. I get that gas also. I dont think its stretched out. I probably wouldn't continue to take big gulps, just a little more than a sip :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
