September Sleevers...! Come on in and chat!

Happy for you. Bummer for me, I am the week after on the 19th. Who is your coordinator? I would love to hear how things go. I have Dr. Valenzuela also. Happy preperation.

Thanks! My coordinator is Cindy. She has been awesome. Very quick to respond to anything and everything, phone or email. I will probably make a post once I am there and do a play by play update. Or maybe even make a twitter. I wish more people would do that! It certainly helps to know what's going on beforehand and what people's impressions are.

That would be awesome. Yes, it would be helpful if more people would let us know from the hospital how things are going. Then again, they are probably just trying to get through the recovery the first day and adjusting. I have never had major surgery, so I have no idea. I am hoping to not feel too bad, so I can have a little enjoyment while I am off work. Good luck.

Hi Everyone!

I am having VSG in TJ on Sept 2nd. I know there were some responses but I just can't seem to find it where there were some of you going to Mexico for surgery on 9/2. I would love to put a group of friends together in my email so we can chit chat and help each other on our journey. I know there is a Facebook page out there, however I am really computer challenged. I would love to get that link to the facebook page again or reply to this and I will send you my email address. I think the more people I have around me the better I will be when I am having one of those days!

Thanks for all the help

Bon

Waiting for Approval from my insurance but was told surgery date should be September 9th in the Lone Star State :)

I received a sample pack of the Bariatric Advantage products, but will be looking and comparing other products too. I do have a questing about the 2 week liquid diet, during that period did anyone still take their prescribed medications. Mine are Metformin, BloodPressure, anti acid.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
