Had my post op visit yesterday and was told to advance to full/purée for 3 to 4 days then as tolerated. Was so happy! Had Tomato Soup, cottage cheese, and a Protein Shake with real milk, skim of course. Now I have no appetite whatsoever. It's been 12 hours since I ate (drinking fine) but no appetite. Normal??? I couldn't wait to eat and now....not so much. Not nauseous or pain. Just not hungry....help!

Totally normal so soon post-op. don't panic. Try having a scrambled egg or cottage cheese for Breakfast. If it feels uncomfortable stop eating. It will take your new tummy a little while to learn to digest the food. Also, be sure to drink your Water as that will help keep things moving. I got so horribly constipated in the beginning and that will definitely shut down your appetite.

pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2

No appetite is normal for now. I find myself watching the food channel or Food Fest on QVC just to entice me to eat something. Lol

Just forced myself to eat a couple bites of cream of wheat. Glad it's normal because when I was on clears I felt starving now not so much. Oh and using have any problems moving my bowels and have added benefiber clear to my diet per my dietitians recommendation.

I think it is fortunate you have no appetite...and that is more the norm post-op I think...I, unfortunately, never much lost my appetite and still experience head hunger and true hunger..the sleeve is a tool that helps me deal with it much better than pre-surgery though...best to you...keep hanging around here--it's great for emotional support and a wealth of info and shared experiences

Thanks tigerbelle! I do have the head hunger please don't get me wrong. I would kill for a slice of pizza and some fries lol! That's what got me in trouble in the first place! It's only my second meal since clears so I'm sure ill get hungrier as the days and weeks go on. I'm def sticking around and glad that I found these forums. Great info an support! My biggest fear is that my family and I go to the beach this weekend for a week! My downfall has always been fast fried food so I'm trying really hard to prepare for that. We are renting a house so at least most of our meals will be eaten in!

The fried food probably won't even smell good anymore. Your tummy just isn't going to like certain things. If I have to eat at fast food I look for a Wendy's and have a bit of their chili. Good luck this weekend and try to relax and enjoy it :D

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
