Congrats on your fast day ladies.

Mine was a fail. It was a conscious choice...urg..I'm just definitely not feeling it. I will do better tomorrow as my "make up" fast day. I hope.

scale isn't my friend lately and the carb demon has come calling. I'm about to hit my cycle and I'm just...blah. Very very blah lately.

Furthermore, I would like to say that there'd be a lot less blah in my world if people would just accept that I'm always right and quit disagreeing with me. :P Having ex-wife/stepkid issues on top of everything else and now is not the freaking time, I tell you! Adds to the blahs, of course.

Should have word today about whether or not hubs is deploying in the very near future. If it's a negative, we could have as long as six months or so before the call comes down, so that's good.

Everyone else seems to be doing so great! I know that I am doing well and I also know that I can't compare myself. I am just plain slow at losing but it gets irritating to see things it go in the tenths of a pound, you know? Drop, bounce, drop, bounce...net - 2 tenths of a pound. Blah blah blah.

Laura, it's good to see your lovely face as your avatar again but I'm sure that unicorn is a reminder of the other kids in the play yard and helps you keep it friendly. I'm keeping it friendly. Barely, but I'm totally doing it.

Alright, enough negativity. I've got things to do. In positive news, baby spawn is now sleeping through the night, which means Mama gets more zzzs, too. :)

I'd forgotten what eight whole hours of sleep felt like!

So, I just went back to my old weight loss tracker (from 2010-2011) and saw that I had a massive problem breaking into the 130s last time, too. Huh.

I think I feel a little better about it. It looks like I logged between 141-145 for seven weeks last time. That merits a frowny face for being bad news but a smiley for reassuring me that this is something I overcame before. I can definitely do it again.

Not sure if I'll do it with a smile on my face, but I'm doing it.

Hey, wait a minute -- there's me too, remember?? I'm not sure if I've lost ANYTHING yet cos of the bouncing bouncing bouncing. And I've been much better on my normal days too. So I'm trying to break into the 60s since AGES now...let's row that boat together!

Cheers,

Dee

I wasn't able to follow through with fasting yesterday but did drop 2 lbs so now I'm at 148.2 lbs........My carb demon is so bad that I decided to just do an all Protein day with Protein Shakes and cheese.....

laura I remembered you saying that it took you 2 weeks to get your carb monster under control after your vacation and I was having a lot of head hunger too. SO the protein day was really good for me. I'm sure it was over 600 calories though........

Cheri i love your thought processes and it's really hard to keep on track with being up in the air about the possibility of your DH being deployed and step kids along with ex wife issues too.....I love how you do have things under control when making your wonderful baked goods.....

Swizzly I do understand the bounce so we are all in the same row boat together......you will get to the 160's with your determination..... :P

Coops you've lost 7lbs and that's fantastic! you are looking fantastic too......Rock on!

Georgia you have done exceptionally well toooooo! Keep it up! :P

Everyone else on here is doing really well also! Keep Rockin it! :P

Down a little more. MFP asked me if I wanted them to reset my calorie and exercise goals because I have lost 10 pounds since the last time I did it.... NO thank you! Doing well as I am. I don't really want to lose faster than I am at this point. Unless I hit a giant stall, it will be off soon enough, and then we will see about the BIG M!

Thanks for the advice ladies, I did NOT fast yesterday and actually ended up eating out twice (impromtu movie with the fam, and then impromtu dinner out after, and yes there was popcorn but I did 2 micro bags before we left for the theater and divided them into 4 baggies for the 4 of us, way better than the theater popcorn!)

So today IS a fast day. I'm taking the girls tomorrow for a mini vacation up to visit my family (they live 4 hours away in the mountains) leaving hubby here because of work. But I'm already anticipating it will be hard to try and fast while visiting family. So I'm thinking of just really trying to keep things on the low-cal end and start fasting again next thurs. Sigh.

Oh and just wanted to ask how many weeks before the bouncing stopped for you ladies who have been on this since June? I'm so tired of the scale going down when I fast then back up when I feed. (admittedly my feed days have been in the higher range, like 1500-2000 whereas normally I try to not go over 1300-1400). But put me down as "in the bounce zone" because that is what I keep seeing! Aargh!

Girls the bouncing is on going for me!! June start date.. And it's bouncing all over.. The trend is down but SLOWLY.. I'm up a pound just now to 163 but I started at 171.

Last night was hard I wanted mass amounts of food so bad. Not really hunger as much as wanting the comfort of food.

I didn't do it but by the time I went to bed I had a Headache and still have it this morning.

Regular day today :) but I'll try to not go crazy :D

Bouncing weight, I feel is really normal - for all, not just us sleevers... a friend of mine who never goes about 140 can bounce 7lbs at a time... so I try not to stress too much. I am now seeing a 'smaller' bounce on a daily basis, if that makes sense. Before this whole 5:2 I could vary in weight 2 -5 lbs in 24 hrs... now it is 1-3lb. This morning I saw 160 again, I hope it is the same in the morning cos that is my 'offical' weigh day... If the higher bounce occurs on any day apart from Sat, I am not too bothered... just keep my eye on it. But I would like to see 160 in the morning so that would make me offically at my lowest (apart from the once I saw it after my TT).

Cheri... I am with you with the whole breaking through the number thing... but I think I have shown that it can be done... remember I was at 164 for soooo long I thought that, that would be it... then it went down and I haven't seen 164 for at least a week. I would love to see 11 stone 5lb which would make me 159lb - into the 150s... bloody hell! I haven't seen that number for nearly 20 years!

keep on keep on ladies... we are doing GOOD!

Well, I made it back from my vacation. I ate a ridiculous amount of food well away but also did a lot of walking and hiking (and carrying tired kids!). I really expected a gain on the scale, but weighed this morning and was a 1 lb lighter than when I left! Still not at the lowest I got to during all of this, but down from what I was.

So I started on June 19th, and M2G, I still am bouncing around on the scale. I am down overall, but still bouncing. As of this morning, I am down a total of 3.8lbs and weighed in at 143. So I have about 5 more pounds to go to get to where I was, but I wouldn't mind getting a few pounds lighter, maybe around 135lbs (PS, I am only 5'2.5", do that puts in barely within a normal BMI). So I have concluded that I am pretty much the slowest loser here! But, admittedly, I am not trying super hard on my non-fast days. Maybe if I did, I would be down a little more, but my mind is just not in the right mode. I am OK "dieting" on my fast days, but I do not want to be "dieting" every single day. I will see.....

Today I am fasting because I was away. I normally fast Monday and Thursday, but didn't either of those days, so I am going to today. So far, it is almost noon and I haven't eaten yet and haven't felt super hungry, so that is OK. I have to get groceries as I don't have all my fasting go to's in the house since we were away.

I tried to read through all the posts on here, and everyone is doing so amazing!! Have a great day everyone!

M2G- I still bounce all over the place until about 2to3 days later. Then it will settle. I have learned not to get on the scale until the second day after a fast.

Cheri - you are a very strong woman, there is no way I could deal with everything you do and not gain weight.

Laura- I think maybe the stress last night from the ( I need advice) post, might be the culprit for you being hungry and ofcourse the fast to. I have noticed when I am super stressed I feel like I am starving.

To everyone hope you have a great weekend.

Oh and good luck to girls fasting today!

Thanks!

Unfortunately I figured out this wouldn't work today. I have leftovers from lunch yesterday with my girlfriend, and even though it's 2pm, I just heated them up and ate them. So now I'm at 622 cals at 2:25pm. And I suppose my family will expect me to feed them dinner...gah!! We don't always eat meals as a fam, but usually for dinner we try to.

Does anyone else try to hide their "dieting" habits from young to pre-teen to teen girls living in their house? I have two girls (ages 11 and 12.5) and I do not tell them "oh gee, today I'm eating 500 cals and I'm fasting" I worry about what that does to them and their own eating habits and behaviors. My 12 yo is already over 5'4" and probably 125-130lbs (I don't see her weight except at the dr. visits each year) so there is NO WAY IN HE)) that I need her thinking she should fast.

I talked to hubby about it (he is sleeved also) so it's not like it a big ole secret (he is supportive but not partaking...yet), but I do find that most people's reaction to eating 500 cals a day is not very "understanding" shall we say?

So the short vers. of the story is I will probably need to eat dinner with my family tonight, otherwise I could call it a day and not eat again until tomorrow. Pfffttt!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
