I'm six months out from surgery. Surgery date was 1-7-13. Starting weight was 392lbs. Height 6ft 1in. Current weight is now 264lbs, for a total loss of 128lbs in 6 months. I have roughly 24 more lbs to lose to be at my goal.

That's Great. Congrats!! I'm getting mine done on 7-17 and excited. I need to loose 150lbs to get to my ideal weight. I do need to ask...how did you loose so fast? Did you workout? What foods did you stick with? I'd love to have the same success as you in 6 months. But know women loose slower. But id be happy loosing close to what you've lost :))

It does seem guys lose faster. Plus I had a lot to lose. Soon as I was cleared to be in the gym I was there 4-5 days a week. I got cleared after 4 weeks. I started off doing cardio then gradually began lifting with very very low weights and high reps. I made sure I got in my Protein. Make sure you get your Protein in through food sources rather then via drinks. At first you'll most likely only be able to get in enough protein through drinks and such. Follow the doctors orders to the T. Bottom line is you have to want it more than me or the next guy/girl. Give 110% with this lifestyle change. Feel free to ask any other questions. Good luck

I am also about 6 months out and have lost about 40 lbs since surgery. Seems slow, but I am happy with the gradual loss actually. I had a RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate) test done and found that for my body, the amount of calories I would burn in a day is 1260. This is quite low, even the doc said some people are just made that way. Anyways, not a justification, but good to know that sometimes you're battling nature too.

I am doing well, I avg about 900 cal a day and I exercise regularly. I must admit I am totally not eating healthy. I just eat what I want, but much less. Snacking has been an issue, but I still lose 1-2 lbs a week. Anyways, Hope it continues. I am sooo happy with this surgery and would NEVER want to go back to the way I was.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
