I can't believe I'm finally posting in the post-op forum!

I had surgery yesterday and I am finally getting some Water today. I never thought I would be so excited to have water.

Everyone except my family thinks I had my gallbladder out. I'm scared to tell people.

Congrats!!! Good luck your journey :) Right now shouldn't be about what other people think. Your recovery and health are important for the success of this surgery. In time I am sure you will be able to share your story with friends and family and if they are truly friends and family they will embrace it. Have a great day and good luck in recovery ;)

LoL my friends and family think I had an ulcer, didn't want to be judged!! Just a white lie, not hurting anyone!! and, I am happy!! Good luck with the Water and if it gets tough to drink, add a little lemon, works great!! Best of luck on your journey!!!

Congratulations!! I agree with LonghornNiner, don't worry about who knows or thinks what, just concentrate on taking care of yourself and recovering! It will come in time if you decide to share your story. I am 4 days post-op and feeling better each day! I only shared with a few key people closest to me what I was doing. I will know if and when it's time to share with others. You made a huge step to do something to better yourself physically, etc, and you are in control of when and who knows. Hang in there, and follow your surgeons orders to the T! I wish you all the best during your recovery!

Most people think I had stomach surgery because of an ulcer.......I like it this way....never planning on sharing the truth with too many....... :)

Only my immediate family know the truth as well. I want it to be a surprise when we go to the family reunion in February!!! I am soooooooooo proud of myself.

Thanks for the support. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one keeping a secret.

They gave me Jello and broth now. The Jello was so good. But I feel like I just ate a ton!

It's also the day after my surgery, I also agree that the Jello tastes & feels better going down but I can't finish it in 1 sitting.

Seems to me you are right on track......You will gradually be able to eat more and tolerate more but it takes time .....There will be things you ate before that don't taste good anymore and other things you will love to eat...It is all a learning experience......I love fish and rarely ate it before my surgery....... :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
