I wish I could help but I have mine scheduled for the 17th and I'm pretty freaked out. My sister had one & she said it's easy. She said they put a little thing in your mouth ( for the thing to go in) & you lay down then they are waking you up. She said you are just fine the rest of the day & it's like taking a good nap. I hope this helps you. :-)

Had mine done a week and a half ago or so. Wheeled me into the OR, I laid down on the bed and they put in the IV. Once I was situated (they didn't put anything in my mouth at that point, just made sure I was comfortable, the anesthesiologist told me he was pushing the meds. I got some fuzzy vision, then prickly warm cheeks, then nothing until I woke up in recovery. I was coughing pretty hard, but didn't have any pain. My throat did start to hurt shortly after I woke up, but lozenges were effective. The sore throat pain was not a big deal. A lot like getting over bronchitis or something. Gargle with warm salt Water and use lozenges, and you'll be fine. My throat was sore for a few days, but I didn't gargle like I was told to, and I was having some pretty significant post nasal drip, which gives me a sore throat anyway, so I don't know how much was actually the procedure.

Good luck!

It was very simple, I.V. was put in, then I was wheeled in and put under right away, I woke up 20 mins later. I felt perfectly fine an hour later and the rest of the day. No sore throat or anything. Piece of cake!

Mine was pretty easy. I V put in, rolled into another room. Dr spoke to me about what he would be doing, they gave me meds, I was talking and then next thing I know, I was being woken up by dr talking to me telling me I did great. The one thing I will say, is that I was tired and groggy the rest of the day and had to sleep it off.

It's effortless! And frankly the IV meds were fantastic. Great sleep! You'll be absolutely fine. My throat didn't hurt a bit.

I just had mine today. No problem whatever. IV and the rolled me over to my side but the nasal cannel in my nose for oxygen, put the bite gard in my mouth. I was out and woke up 20 minutes later. It was all good. My throat feels fine. They just told me no driving today. So I'm watching The Walking Dead ;)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
