I'm 2 days away from surgery, well 1, surgery is Wednesday. I am extremely nervous!!! I've been on a pre op diet for 2 weeks, week one was liquid with the added cottage cheese, scrambles eggs, lean meats and non starchy vegetable, week 2 is strictly liquids. I feel like I've followed week 2 pretty closely. Week 1 was on and off but I was down 4 lbs after week 1 and am now back at the weight I started. I have continued exercising through the 2 weeks, moderately. I've TRIED to get the 60grams of Protein in but most days it's been around 40 or 50. I'm convinced that my doctor will refuse to do surgery because I haven't lost weight. He accused me of eating unhealthy last month when I gained 2 lbs instead of lost and WOULD NOT believe me that I haven't. And last month I even worked out about 2x more and 2x harder than I had in the months prior. I'm drinking some magnesium citrate to try and shed a few more lbs but I don't know what more I can do. Feel absolutely pathetic.

Was there a specific amount of weight that you were required to lose?

My doctor required me to loose five percent of my weight. Each doctor is probably different.

He never specifically told me a number or percent at all he just said my liver was enlarged when he did my endoscopy and said I needed to follow the diet for safety reasons.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
