I'm not complaining about stalling because I would actually rather not lose super quickly so I don't have the issues with excess skin and such. However, I have hit a stall and I am only 10 days post op... Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this? I am getting discouraged because I still get hungry and feel like I can eat more than I should. Please help!!

Everyone hits stalls at different times after surgery and in different frequencies. Do what your surgeon told you to do and be patient.

I get hungry too, but it's different than before surgery. And let me tell you the times I thought I could eat more than I should have been painful and memorable!

Hang in there!

Stalling is just natural. Your body is fighting you but the numbers will work themselves out. I'm 6 weeks post-op and eat less than 800 calories per day but I don't lose weight everyday. For me it happens once per week so now I only weigh myself once per week. DO NOT BECOME A SLAVE TO THE SCALE!!! Believe in yourself and work on the process, it will work itself out in the long run. Good luck!

I still get hungry too Tamarlarae. There are certain things that I can still eat that I could eat a lot of, like popcorn, but I don't cause I really want this to work. I had a stall on weeks 4&5, but then lost more on week 6.It's kind of funny but the thing that I can't eat a lot of is Protein, 2.5 oz fills me right up, but there are things people here call "slider foods" that I could eat and not have a problem with on quantity. So far I'm resisting the temptation but I'm with you some days it's not easy. Hang in there, it will work even if you lose slowly.

13 days post op. Stalled 3days ago. Today I was cleared to start pureed, but im afraid I'll eat more starches than anything. Went to popeyes and got a large red Beans No rice. Ate about 4oz. Trying to get in more Protein. Just trying to find things soft enough for me to eat

pureed stage is confusing because you still can't eat alot of things. Made some mashed potatoes. Just can't bring myself to eat baby food. My nut suggested pureeing chili. 2 weeks of this....the count down begins..

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
