I am scheduled with Dr. Ramos-Kelly next month. Can anyone tell me about aftercare with him? I am really having to work at getting my wife "on board". She was very supportive till my passport and credit card showed up to pay for the surgery with no interest until 8/2014. Now, she is having second thoughts as the reality sets in. Can anyone enlighten me about the aftercare, safety, and success with Dr. Kelly?

Thank you for any help you can give me.

Congratulations on scheduling your surgery! I can't speak to aftercare with Dr. Kelly, Dr. Garcia Govea was my surgeon, but my husband had second thoughts, and third thoughts, and fourth thoughts.... so I know a little bit of what you're going through now. As far as aftercare for Mexico sleeve patients, in general, there are tons of us on here who have had amazing experiences with a variety of south-of-the-border surgeons. Of course she's just worried because she loves you bunches, I'm sure, but maybe it might put her mind at ease a bit to read some of the success stories from the My Story section on this sight? I let my husband poke around on the sight for a few hours and it went a long way to easing his mind.

Best wishes!

I used Dr Kelly. As far as after care in TJ, he came to the hotel a few times to check on me and talk.

I talked to my regular dr at home before going. He gave me his blessing and wanted to see me 1 month later...which is tomorrow. He's doing my after care. I went in and had blood tests and tomorrow he will look over all of my testing from down there...I'm already of sugar meds..hopefully cholestrol too tomorrow. I would talk to your dr about after care.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
