Hmm.. I feel like I'm the only one who would absolutely love my family to leave me alone. I mean.. Really alone. Not just when I lock myself in the bathroom and pretend I'm actually using the toilet' date=' or when I say I'm going to the grocery store and never leave the drive way because it's so peaceful all by myself. .. ;) etc[/quote']

Laughing as I am reading this in the car pretending I am not home yet!

I can relate! Found that ice has become my best friend now. I get the little sonic ice and it helps as I watch tv or feel the "need" to chew. Also, I've noticed that each day the hunger gets less as the acids in my tummy regulate.

I totally understand your vent. If it helps just think soon you will be able to eat. Stay strong.

Mrs Pierre, your headband rocks.

TakingBack, this is the perfect time for some spiritual growth. God loves each and every one of His children, but would also like us to take care of the body that He lent us for this earthly life. Hmmm... do I really believe that 100%? Not always, but I'm kind of religious, and pretty spiritual, and I feel like this is a dialogue that I have with God, often...Now, is it a dialogue if I'm the only one talking....I think so...I'm sure God does sometimes answer us, albeit indirectly.

Maybe the next 5 days are a time to reflect on your relationship with the Eternal...or maybe find some Bible passages about being healthy, or taking care of our bodies...or even try 1 Samuel 16:7, which just makes ya feel good:

For [the LORD seeth] not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

Be strong, be strong, & may you be strengthened.

Things are normal! That is something I think most folks wanted to do. I had a major meltdown 6 days post op. Just hang in there. It will get better!

I am almost 16 weeks out now and life has been great since about 6! I promise it will get better!

First I understand how you feel. Many of us can testify that we went through the same stage. I was mad for about two weeks with tears. I fussed at my entire family. It gets way better. But Yes he does need to be more helpful. Maybe some one else can help. In the beginning some do need to be there. And call your physician immediately if you feel sick like chest pain Short of Breath fever or seem like something is not right. We are here for you too and will be more than helpful.

Wishing you the best of Luck

Thanks everybody:) I've calmed down and prayed through it, I think it's probably a good thing to be alone for a few days. Need to put on my big girl granny panties and move forward.

Had some restaurant egg drop Soup for dinner without even thinking of a Protein shake and I've adjusted my attitude. So nice to be able to hear affirmations from those who have been there, thank you.

This community is such a blessing:)

Book the longest massage you can afford or get a little package (check groupon!) and go every other day they're gone. It's very therapeutic and will help release a lot of toxins in your body. Next best think to a Calgon moment and spares a lot of violence :-)

Funny my first week home my brave sister came out to stay for a week. She then saw that I have more then one job. The 24/7 mother job. I am lucky my oldest is twenty and my youngest is 12 but my 15 year old is autistic. They 24/7 job that never goes away. She helped big time and the kids were good but she had to go home and rest from all the usual mother stuff. And mind you my 15 year old is not the one that demands the most time. The regular other two are the ones that you ask them to do something and its why or I will do it later and the golden why can u do it? Forgetting that you can hardly move. I loved the fact the kids went to school so I had the house to myself for part of the day. I am a single mom with an ex who returned to his country for a visit and it has been 5 years. So he is no help.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
