The scale is killing me

Recommended Posts

Just to reassure you, we all go through theses "dry" periods. I am at 6 months and have had 2 and 3 week periods where I'll not lose weight and sometimes gain a few pounds - with no change to my diet or how much I exercise.

It freaked me out at first (not sure I'm "used" to it happening yet! But I'm getting better at living with it. :-))

It's just your body adjusting to your new way of life. It would be nice if the weight fell off in a steady downward pace, but it doesn't seem to work that way for me.

Here is my favorite soft/puree recipe for taco chicken. Maybe it'll help liven up your diet.

I was you at two weeks. About the same weight, too. I was stuck losing and gaining the same pound and a half from week two until almost week four. Very frustrating but you can't change what you did, so just keep on getting in your Protein and Water to the best of your ability. Eventually the scale will move.

I will say that whenever I get stuck I eat a lot of cupcakes run a 5k consume a few bags of M&Ms with popcorn double my calories check to see the last time I made a poodle (usually 3-7 days ago), take a Colace (stool softener) and wait for the magic to happen. Pooping is always a good way to see movement on the scale.< /p>

You are in a common spot for a stall. Patience is hard, but it's your only option.

I've been stuck at 221.2 for six days!!!!!!!! I'm only 2 weeks post opt. Should it be leaving quicker???? My diet is as boring as a soft diet should be :-(

I'll be at 4 weeks post op tomorrow and am only down 16lbs from surgery date, 23lbs from pre-op diet. So, I feel your pain. I'm trying to stay calm and just keep getting fluids and Protein on my soft diet - and will be increasing exercise this week. Good luck to us!!

Be patient...this works! Everyone appears to go through the 3 week stall. I stalled then for almost 2 weeks...I was SO pissed! Then I stalled again around 3 months...but miraculously I dropped a whole pants size that time. I haven't been losing super fast, but I've lost almost as much as my husband, who had bypass nearly 3 months before I had my sleeve done. My doctor always says...this is a marathon - not a sprint. :D

I try to ignore the stalls and no my body has to start losing and it always does. I had my biggest drop in weight at 3 months out...I lost 20 lbs that month. At 5 months out I am really losing slowly now.

It'll move when your body is ready. There is no way that it wont. Just keep doing what you are supposed to be doing. Try not to look at the scale every day (although I do every every day) I keep a chart of my weight loss and this also helps me to see that at times that I stale but that it is always just for a time. Dont worry too much about it! It happens to us all!!! I have been sleeved for over 9 months and I have stalled off and on the whole time! Just be patient! You too will be down a ton of weight before you know it! You can do it!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
