When do the god awful gurgles stop?

Recommended Posts

I am three weeks out and every time I eat, or drink something thicker, I get horrible gurgles loudly coming up from my belly for about twenty minutes afterward, along with pressure in my upper chest that makes me feel like I need to puke. Is this normal? When will it end?

I think the pressure in your chest is an indication of being full or a little too much food. I hope this stops soon for you.

I had them really bad in the beginning. It didn't seem to matter how little I ate, how slowly I ate, how much I chewed etc...it still happened. The good news is that it gets MUCH better. The bad news is that (for me at least) it's a long process. The gurgles slowly lessened over time. Each day they got just a tiny bit quieter and lasted just a tiny bit less long. Day by day it steadily improved, but it took awhile. Now at almost a year out, I almost never experience the gurgling. At this point I usually only experience it if I eat too quickly or try to drink too soon after eating. The gurgles I experience now are much quieter and less embarrassing than they were immediately post-op.

I'm about 4 months out and I still get the gurgles every now and then. For me, greek yogurt causes the gurgles.

Oh, and it happens with liquids, too - Vitamin Water, chocolate milk...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
