Really stupid question..

Recommended Posts

I start my pre op diet in 2 days, so I went shopping for all re and post op items. My surgeon has us going home from the hospital on puréed food. I was reading through my booklet and it says to chew each bite between 25-30 times. Does that go for purée too? I mean, I can't picture chewing yogurt, but are you supposed to? I guess if you chew it then it will Water down with saliva? Gross, but I was just wondering! :)

When i ate yogurt and stuff, I just kind of swished it around my mouth a little bit- like you said, to Water it down..... that does sound gross when you say it out loud lol

Don't worry about trying to chew yogurt! LOL! Just eat it slowly, savor and enjoy it! Do thoroughly chew any food that one would normally chew!

Personally since Yogurt and Jello are considered "liquids" on some diets, I just eat it normally.

Thanks guys.. I know it sounds really dumb lol. I just want to do everything exactly right, but was too embarrassed to ask my surgeon. I'd rather get laughed at by Internet strangers then my surgeon! ;)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
