:help: Ok. I am two weeks and four days post op. do you remember that weird feeling post op on the surface of your belly skin that was numb and sensative all at one? Well that dissapeard about a week ago only to return IN FORCE today. I have 7 small incisions that have healed VERY well. I have one at the bottom of my belly button then two more to the far left of my belly button side by side then one more up and angled to the left of my belly button, then more.. OK. If you were to draw a slanted to the left triangle with the narrow point starting at my belly button and the other two wide points to the left, the entire area in between is intense sore and numb and on occasion a twinge of #4 pain. it's no where near the port or my tummy.

Now, I did stumble yesterday walking in to my buliding but didn't toally wipe out, however it jarred me pretty good. I noticed this sensation mainly today and more intensely the past two hours. Any one else experiences these phantom pains that are not directly under their incisions?

I called the doc's office and they think I'm ok and want me to call back on Monday.

Tracy,

After the incision pains went away, I continued (still do) have what I describe as “port pain”… But it is NOT an incision pain. It is halfway between my port incision & another little incision. It is a “youch” twinge when I do something too much (twist, stretch, lift, cough hard, guffaw). :(

I freaked a wee bit after reading posts from Susannah about her port flip, thinking maybe that was what I was feeling. My doctor said the pain I feel is where the port is actually attached to my abdominal muscle, and that pain THERE could go on for about 2 months (but that some people never have any port pain at all). Once I irritate it, it is easier to 'reproduce' the pain. But now, for example, I can't cause it at all. Other than this occsional so-called port pain, I have healed up very well at one month out from surgery.

I don’t know if this is what you are experiencing. Maybe your stumble gave you just enough of a jolt to bother the abdominal muscle where your port is attached…?

I would call again Monday just to be on the safe side, however! Hope you're feeling better!!

I need to know if anyone has the lap band VG placed. It's the largest of the 3 sizes and I don't feel any restrictions at all. I do get full quicker, but can eat anything. bread included. I've had nothing stick at all,and can even gulp fluids. Why? I'm having to use alot of self control until my first fill April 10th. I was banded in 2/28. My fills are 2cc at a time since my band holds 10cc total. I kinda blocked this part of the seminar out thinking that it did not pretain to me and now here I am, does anyone know anything else?

I also have the VG Band and was banded Feb. 13th I lost weight for about 2 1/2 to 3 wks post op and have not lost since. I was restricted then but as the time has pasted and I have been healing there is no restriction. I can also eat anything and my portions are getting very large and I am always hungry so I have to rely on self control and that is Scary. Past track record shows that don't work. I get my first fill March 26th and can't wait. I don't know anything else but this is hard to deal with since I lost 26 lbs during my 4wk pre-op diet and 16 lbs post op till I stopped losing. My biggest fear is gaining again.

Good luck with your fill and I will let you know how it goes after fill.

Terry

I decided to take my measurements again this morning and was amazed at how much I've shrunk so I thought I'd share.

Bust ...............-3.5"

Waist .............-2.5"

Hips ...............-2.5"

Upper Arms .....-3.0"

Thighs ............-2.0"

Total lost = 13.5"

No wonder all my clothes are hanging off me:D:D:D:D:D

Hi Everyone.

I was banded on the 28th as well with a VG Band. My appetite fluctuates from hungry to not hungry. I haven't been starving yet, and I've basically been keeping to my diet prescribed by my surgeon.

I'm down rougly 15 pounds since my surgery date. I wish it was more, but I'm limited in my activity because of continuing pain at my band, not the port, oddly enough.

Hi Feb Bandsters. This photo of me is from way before I was banded. I can't work out how to crop my post op pic because it is too big. Anyway here I am. I often wonder what some of you guys look like too.

I read your posts everyday, even though I don't post a lot. I am pretty involved with my little group of mates over on the Australian local support board here. My feb homies are still important to me though.:) Susannah

:faint: :faint: Well, it happened again today. I stepped on the scale after yesterday's drinking Water, eating right, walking, etc, only to see the same (*&^&*$ number on that scale. I'm beginning to think my scale is broken...maybe I should get a new one. SURELY this can't be right~????

THree weeks on the same number??? I'm going to throw the scale away.

(Don't tell me not to weigh......have to do it every morning)

Any suggestions on how to jump start this losing???? I'm going crazy here.

1st fill will be next Thursday.........thank goodness.

I had 2 weeks with staying the same but I have now started to lose again. I really think after the initial post-op loss the body needs to get over the reduction in the amount of food. If you don't eat enough your body can go in to starvation mode when it tries to hang on to every last ounce of fat it has. I only started losing again when I ate more. Be patient and I'm sure you'll start losing again. One thing is for sure if you give now you definitely won't lose anything :);):).

Hi Teacher,

You and I were banded same day, and I am not losing either. Not freaking yet, as I am going to the fitness center, and working hard there.

See my doctor for first fill this coming Friday, yippee......

I didn't think for a minute you were going to give up!!lol!! That's the beauty of the lapband you can't give up! I was merely implying that you have no alternative but to lose weight in the end.

Depression for 30 something years does thing to your mind. Now that I'm banded I will push this thing to the max! I can't gain those years back but I will not be planning my death anymore. Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
