Thinning hair and weight loss

Recommended Posts

I have been watching several posts here about Hair loss after the sleeve surgery. For me, it is no biggie because I shave my head. But, my wife is considering the surgery as well and is greatly concerned because she already has thin hair. Does the hair loss happen to everyone who has the surgery or just a select few? I know she can take Biotin as well as eat plenty of Proteins to help. She is really struggling with this issue. Can anyone offer some help or advice? Thanks.

My hair has thinned a ton I've probably lost close to half my hair especially around the front and top of my head it's horrible, but I would do the surgery again in a heart beat I'm so happy with my weight loss and I'll just wear hats and other cute hair things til it grows back

I think a lot of people have thinning hair, but it is not a given that it will happen. I get my Protein, I take Biotin and I have still thinned A LOT. I am 8 months out and have heard months 6 - 9 are the worst. So hopefully I am nearing the end. They say it does grow back. In the meantime I got an adorable (if I say so myself) pixie cut that I would NEVER have considered before losing the weight I have.

In the long run, having a healthy body is more important than hair, and it will grow back! Good luck to your wife in her decision!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
