I love the phrase as well " chubby girl mind"!! This could be the name of a really trendy blog. Moving on I have the reverse " Smaller girl mind". I have not always been big. I have a closet filled with beautiful clothes that I cannot fit. I purchase sizes I cannot wear yet...Go figure  . On a recent shopping trip to Marshall I purchased a beautiful red dress and a black sheer dress with a pink smaller dress underneath the black shear. The sizes are medium. My daughter thought it dumb to make purchases, and I have not had surgery yet. I find dresses tend to fit depending on the cut nicely (if I am wrong and she is right , I will post pictures to the gallery) I digress. Do not over buy....I would never buy pants or shirts, just maxi dresses and such until you reach that desired goal. Your mind will adjust when your size adjust...give it time.

I have a very hard time. I was a 30 at my heavyiest and now in a 12 womens. I have alwsys been in plus sizes. My husbsnd took me to Catos one day to find a new dress. The plus size on one side of store and misses on the other side. I walked into store and straight to the plus side the sales woman came up to me and told me my size clothes is on the other side of the store. It made my day that the saleswoman told me to go to the misses sidw of the store. But I still mentally see myself as a big girl. I guess it just tskes time.

In six months I went from 18's and 20's to 4's and 6's. It was overwhelming, fun, exhilarating......there aren't really words to describe the feelings!!! That was 2 years and 7 months ago. For almost a year I'd automatically head to the women's section and then "remember". I use to dread having to go buy something new, now, I go for the fun of it, just to try on clothes some times. I STILL hold something up and think 'no way'. I still hold up my size 4 jeans just out of the dryer and think 'no way' - it is still unbelievable.

I would consider a size 12 'normal', and by that I mean, you can find size 12's anywhere, unless it's a boutique that caters to really smaller sizes. Personally, I would consider at 14 'normal' but they aren't as available as 12's. I remember going from a 14 - 16 and thinking, 'this is big' that one size made all the difference mentally, to me. Weird, the mind games we play. :)

I say wait to shop. I got such a lift when I went through my closet and all the clothes were getting looser and looser! I had clothes that I had gotten to large for and then they became too large for me! I would roll the waist down and pull my pants up as far as i could.

When I finally went to "look" I tried on my first size 18 jeans and started happy dancing in the fitting room! Priceless! Down from a 24-28! I felt FANTABULOUS! Shop your closet first by pulling all the old hopeful outfits out first then go "looking";-)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
