What does full feel like?

Recommended Posts

I know this is a stupid question, but I'm 3 weeks out, on soft foods and having a hard time determining I'm full. I know everyone is different, but just want to know what everyone else experiences! Thanks.

At first it's difficult to distinguish between "head hunger full" and "stomach full." Your tummy is full but your head says, "Really....that's it....that's all you're eating...." :) For me, tummy full means a few hiccups followed by a, "Hmmm.....will it hurt if I finish that last bite." I've learned the "will it hurt" thought appears because yes, I have consumed too much at times and had to walk around to get rid of that, "Oh my gosh...I just ate Thanksgiving dinner twice and I'm miserable," feeling. As your tummy heals, it will let you know when it's full.

I am four and a half weeks out and I realized over the weekend that I must relearn everything about my body. It used to be easy to distinguish between acid, Constipation, hunger, etc - now everything is new and I am having to learn what the new feelings are - hope I get through this soon and move forward!

Nope not stupid at all. 12 weeks out as of tomorrow and full to has always felt like taking a bite of a huge bagel without butter cream cheese... With out anything. Just dry. And feeling it go down slowly... That's when I know I'm full when those extra bites feel that way. By everyone is different so ppl might have a different feeling and describe a different scenario. Good luck.

I'm three years post op tomorrow, I still have trouble with this. I'm not ever hungry, my "new" hunger is an empty feeling...and I make it a point to always try and under eat my sleeve. I stop before the full feeling. I measure or weigh my food when I'm home, because I know what is safe, and it makes logging it easier as well. If I wait until I feel "full", it's too late and I'm miserable and uncomfortable. When I stop, I feel satisfied. If I've eaten a bite or two too much, my nose runs, just like when I eat something spicy! I hope this helps.

I thought I was the only one to feel this way. Now that I have a different stomach those feelings I used to have are different now. I am 6 days out and my stomach feels like it balls up when I eat a certain amount. Does thaf mean im full? Hunger pains hurt alot now or I think they are hunger pains. I dont know!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
