I will be traveling by plane 2 weeks after my surgery and will have a 6-7 hour flight home. I was wondering and hoping for advice on what to expect.

Did you have to contact the airlines about liquids/protein drinks? Did you have a problem with seat belts? Were you able to get all your liquids in?

Personally, instead of going through what I would imagine is rigamarole to be able to take liquids through security, I would plan to take powdered Protein with you so you can mix up drinks to your sleeve's content after passing through security (Either buy exorbitantly priced Water at the sundries shop in the terminal or bring a blender ball)

That close to surgery, I would loop your surgeon in to the extended plane trip plan...blood clots are still a very real concern 2 weeks post-op and a 6-7 hour plane trip could be problematic (at the very least, your surgeon can provide you with some "rules" for how often to get up, etc)

Oh, and about seatbelts...think that will depend on your anatomy and incision sites...personally, mine were positioned so that amazingly they did not hit me at my waistband or bra, so I would think the lap band belt on the plane would be okay, but that may not be a universal truth :-)

I flew 5 days post op, approx 4 hours, then a 3 hour layover and another hour long flight. I was fine. I bought a few drinks after security (Water, sugar free iced tea) and since I was still in the "sipping" stage, I didn't need anything extra from the airline. On other flights, I have noticed the US has muscle milk after security so you can buy Protein there. I had no problem getting my liquids in.

I didn't find travelling post op that different than flying any other time in my life. You may need help with your carry on as you shouldn't be lifting anything heavy. My seatbelt was fine. I flew wearing sweatpants and didn't have a problem with it digging in or anything.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
