feeling a bit depressed. I feel so good as if nothing has happened and keep thinking to myself: Oh, my hubby and I could go eat this or that and I have to remind myself that I can't!

When my mind starts winning, I take a Xanax

But seriously, I think everyone of us goes through this! Think about it like this, you are actually mourning the death of your old self! She literally can't exist anymore because you can't turn to food for entertainment/comfort/boredom/etc, like you probably used to. I know I did. I should throw my "fat self" a funeral!

Also - remember that as a woman, as you lose weight rapidly, your fat cells are going to release tons of extra estrogen because that's where it's stored. I feel like a psycho pms killer some days. The slightest thing will make me cry or yell. I just tell myself it's normal. If I have an actual medical reason for something, I don't stress about it as much. You are going to feel MUCH better 3 weeks from now - I promise! :D

I have the SAME PROBLEM. My husband and I bond best over trying new foods and new restaurants. I know that one day I'll be able to do that again, but just not now. I think for me it's just that bonding that I miss more than the actual food. Gotta find a new way to bond!

Folks. all this is just temporary. Your life after sleeve is pretty much normal. You won't be busting out at the buffet, or knocking back a large pie with extra cheese, but you can resume living and I promise you will live much better than your are now. Try to hang in there and focus on the long run. This process is equally tough mentally as it is physically.

just so you know, I went to lunch today with a friend. She wanted to go mexican, so we did. I had a nice, but healthy lunch and totally enjoyed the conversation and company. You'll be fine. If this is making you crazy/depressed etc. take the opportunity to figure out why. Maybe that reason is why you are going through the WLS process...... :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
