I've read great post and advice. So I would love to know what are the slider foods so I can stay away from them. I think I have an idea but I love to learn.

They are any foods that don't provide any real nutritional value and/or that don't provide restriction. Ex: potato chips ... and I found out mashed potatoes/potato salad are sliders for me - I can eat more than I should. Like my surgeon said over and over again ... Protein and produce, if you stick to these, you won't have a problem. It's just hard in the beginning phase since you just want to eat something that feels good - that and head hunger.

Thanks. I've been eating lentil and split peas. Love it thank God.

I appreciate the insight. I want to stay away from any sliders. I have such a huge fear of failing.

It varies between people, but generally it consists of white carbs, potatoes, rice, pastas Then there are chips, Cookies, crackers, popcorn, ice cream, bread (not so much but for some), nuts, lettuce (for some)

Sliders are any food that does not cause you to feel full... and that can be anything. Dense Protein is the only food that fills me up quickly. I ate egg salad last night and discovered that it's a slider for me, despite being a good source of protein. I'm very glad that I weighed that food before sitting down to eat! I had 4 ounces of it and could have probably eaten 4 more ounces! I'll have to be wary of that one. :)

vanilla wafers are a slider food.. so prolly any cookies.. popcorn, chips for sure.. so I try and stay away from these sorts of foods.. and a lot of crackers are too.. like ritz and wheat thins.. those types.. even rice cakes .. for which I like those too.. but I only ever eat one.. I dont eat popcorn.. I eat walnuts.. but they are very filling..and 3oz of those are really a lot I found out.. hard to eat them all.. but I think for most of us.. some slider foods are the same..and others do not. LIke they mentioned lettuce.. I cant eat it.. hurts my tummy.. I get too full too fast.. so I dont eat it.. I love it but hey thats ok.. I dont miss it at all.. too many other things I can eat in its place.. like those small oranges.. cuties.. or tangerines.. I like fruit.. Im going to try some greek yogurt cuz I was told it doesnt taste like reg yogurt.. I dont like yogurt at all.. tastes nasty.. so wish me luck there lol.. but your tummy will be your guide.. I dont weigh foods anymore.. my tummy tells me when Im full.. and I dont over eat.. I pretty much know what 3oz of meat looks like.. and ive done really well.. best of luck to you on your new journey.. It is a great one for sure.. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
