Hi everyone! I'll be turning 25 on the 3rd and would love to have that be the cutoff of my obesity because I have been chubby, then overweight, then obese my entire life. I see women on here saying how they wish they did it sooner... And I know I don't want to have that regret 10 or even 5 (hell or even 1) years from now. I've been researching and considering this for over a year now.

Anyway! I am about to pass my 90 day probation period at my new job and along with that I will be signing up with health insurance (not sure which one exactly) and am curious...

How many had to do the supervised weight loss for six months before approval? What hoops did you have to jump through to get approval? Did you have co-morbidities? My bmi is 42 or 43 (haven't weighed myself in a while due to shame...) but really don't have any co-morbidities aside from anxiety (if that even is one) and sleeplessness.

Please and thank you for any replies. I am so serious about this surgery :)

Usually insurances won't require co morbilities if you are 40+ BMI but mine requires everyone to have type 2 diabetes. Depending on the size of your liver you might be required to lose a % of your body fat. Since I'm a apple shape I need to lose 10%

I had a six month requirement and you'd really be surprised at how quickly it passes by. I did not have serious co-morbids and even without any, my BMI alone would have qualified me.

My doctor's office has a program that goes from initial consult to insurance paperwork submission so outside of attending visits, I had very little to actually do. It was a well oiled machine! Hopefully your surgeon's office is as organized because it made the whole process pretty much stress free (well outside of my own personal anxiety about what I was undertaking).

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
