Need help-yesterday was drinking fine, today can barely sip!

Recommended Posts

I'm just miserable today....nauseated and can barely sip. I've felt like I could throw up at any minute all day long. I'm 8 days post op and was doing fine just yesterday!

I was able to sip on Protein Drinks, sip creamed Soup, and eat a few bites of pudding. I have felt so sick since I woke up this morning.

I already had to have IV fluids early on, so do not want to get dehydrated. I'm sucking on crushed ice at the moment since sipping is so difficult. :(

I was sleeved may 7 and still experiencing extreme nausea, diarrhea and sometimes vomiting. I'm on the puréed foods and I'm certainly hoping it gets better. I basically can't leave the house! I feel urgh!

I'm actually back to feeling good today. I have NO IDEA why I felt so horrible yesterday. I was totally miserable the entire day....vey nauseated, had the chills, dizzy and felt so faint. I could hardly walk to the bathroom. My husband checked my blood pressure, pulse, and temp all throughout the day and night, and was pushing me to sip every 15 minutes. I know he was very concerned (he's a paramedic, so doesn't easily worry since he's seen and done it all). He was on the phone with my doc a couple of times, so am thankful that his knowledge kept me from a trip to the ER.

Today is a new day! I've went to get my nails done this morning and we are doing to going to go to movies tonight if I'm still feeling good.

What a difference a day makes!

You will have good days and bad days like that. I don't know why. I was sleeved April 15th. Six weeks out and I go three-4 days and then have 1-2 really bad days for no reason at all. It must be our bodies still healing.

Be careful! Don't be afraid to call your doctor either. I'm glad you are feeling better! I was told by my NUT that one day I will tolerate it and the next day my body will say no more. If you can't tolerate anything aim for liquid to stay hydrated . ... maybe try warm herbal tea?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
