I know all people are different but I wanted to have an idea of when I could return to work after having the sleeve surgery.

I am 44. 5'6 289 lbs but actually very healthy otherwise. I travel for work and am wondering what my realistic expectations could be. Thanks

It took me about a month before I felt back to normal.

I went back to work after three weeks. I started feeling better after two weeks because that's when I was allowed to switch to soft foods, which really boosted my energy.

I'm four weeks out now and feel pretty much normal. I'll probably start my exercise classes in the next couple weeks as well.

Thank you so much for responding. It sounds like it is not all about pain energegy levels due to drastic change in diet?

Travel.... like in flying? If that is the case you may want to err on the side of caution and not fly for a month afterwards to reduce the possibility of blood clots forming.

Kulita. No flying. I drive about 3 1/2 hours for work however I was planning on doing the surgury in Mexico and would be flying to and from. I hope that does not cause complications. I see many people in here who do it. Thank you

I flew to Mexico to have my surgery and had no problems on the flight back, even flew back a day early because I was so bored at the hospital. I went back to work after a week but wish I had waited two. Mostly because I was weak and tired.

I was told no car trips more than 30 minutes for the first month...you might want to check with your surgeon. I was out for 3 weeks - school administrator, mainly a desk job.

Due to complications it took me about 4 mos before I felt ok. Everyone is different and every body reacts differently. Good luck and keep us posted

I was sleeved on May 10th. 10 days post op and returned to work today! I am an office manager in a doctors office but I mainly sit down. I can honestly say that I should've waited a couple of more days. I'm tired and my upper back is hurting. I keep taking little walks around the halls. I can't wait to get home to rest!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
