How much weight have you lost on the pre-op diet?

I'm amazed that I've lost 10 pounds in 8 days since doing the partial liquid diet. It's crazy!

I was on Protein shakes and Atkins type food for 3 weeks before surgery and lost 15 pounds' date=' gained all that while in the hospital and it took over 2 weeks to lose all the Water weight. I'm now 7 weeks out and have gone from 206 (preop) to 172.

Congrats on the loss! I wonder why people gain back while in the hospital?

I'm on day 6 of the milk diet (from the UK - have to drink 4 pts of semi-skimmed milk per day) I've lost 9lbs and I'm amazed! It's been pretty hard to do it.. and I've had moments where I seriously wanted to eat and had to cook dinner a few times for the family too. Luckily hubby did todays sunday lunch or I would have caved. Only 2 days till surgery so hopefully it will be worth it.

I have been told its all the IV liquids we are pumped with, along with body retaining fluids during swelling after the procedure.

I lost 26 pounds so far.....I don't have a date yet' date=' did all the pre-op requirements already, meeting with my surgeon on 5/28 and hopefully he'll say "omg you did great, lets just skip the liquid crap " lol[/quote']

LOL I was thinking the same thing ... I'm down 35 lbs I'm meeting my surgeon on june5 I'm scheduled for the preop class on the 14th of June so I'm hopping for the last week of June depending on how long the liquid diet is for -_-

What kind of protein shakes may I ask. This worries me most of all. I feel like if I could be disciplined enough to do protein shakes I would not need surgury. How long do you do them

For?

I didn't have to do a pre op liquid diet... Kind of wish I did now, but I'm not complaining. Down 120 pounds in 7 months.

Sweet carol. Wow that is fantastic. Why do you wish we drank shakes. What did you do to loose that so fast. Do you have loose skin?

My doctors plan seems to be very different and restrictive compared to others I have spoken to. I have 2 protein shakes, 1 snack and1 meal a day. I work out everyday. I just wish I did the liquid before because I would have probably been at goal weight now. Lol

I really like GNC 100% Whey Protein shakes.
