I think I have decided to have surgery with Dr. Kuri in Mexico. Does anyone have any feedback about their surgery with Dr. Kuri or recommendations?

I am researching fill doctors in Portland, Oregon and have found one. But if anyone has any recommendations, I would GREATLY appreciate them! Thanks. Collectively this board has been very helpful in my research and final decision to go ahead with this surgery.

I know Lisa/Delarla really liked him and I have heard good things about him. Who is it you know for fills in Portland. Someone else just asked me for some ideas of fill doctors in that area. I know of Kelly Fitzpatrick and tom Eubanks. Let me know, Thanks, Teresa

Sorry Darci,

I wasn't looking at your name just your avatar and forum name. Didn't realize I was dealing with the same person. LOL. I am really hoping I'll like Tom Eubanks office and won't have to look for a fill doctor else where. Since I am kind of in the middle of the state it is a 2 or 3 hour drive no matter which way I go. I want to try in Portland first. Best wishes, Teresa

Dr. Kuri is an excellent surgeon and, because he has chosen NOT to proctor surgeons in other areas, he is almost always available in Tijuana. He practices out of two facilities in Tijuana. One is a VERY, VERY bare bones maternity sanitarium with about eight rooms. The other is his new, modern facility with much a much nicer view of the world and room for a friend/family member. Like the other Tijuana hospitals, they are more like two- or three-doctor clinics than like the fully staffed hospitals we have here.

From your west coast location, Kuri is a good choice. I think he runs from $8-10K, depending on which facility you use. And Rumbaut from Monterrey used to have a follow-up deal going with Fox in Tacoma. I don't know if that still exists. And have you checked out Cirangle in San Francisco? He is closer to you. Rumbaut recommended him to me. The cost, which I think is around $12,000, includes some follow up.

I'm still amazed that you (and others) have found doctors will to do follow-up on other surgeons' patients. That has been a rarity. At one point I found two independent doctors who SAID they would do follow up. But then one called back to say I'd have to have an endo$copy first and have the results sent ot his office and the other took my money and then wanted an endoscopy before doing a fill. In other words, they both needed me to spend a few thousand dollars to cover their asses before they would actually involve themselves in my care. And this was just for routine care.

Anyway, yes. Kuri is one of the best. The only reason I mention the others is that getting to and from Tijuana--and getting fit into his schedule--can be very time-consuming starting in LA. So you will consume even more time. Good luck on your search.

Sue

Dr Kuri is very well known and respected here in So cal where I live, there is even a online support group callled original southern california bandsters and most of the members in it are Kuri patients as a matter of fact they had there monthly meeting yesterday in Irvine at a restaraunt and he showed up to participate. There is a woman here in our group that used Kuri (delarla) and she isvery happy with him. Dr Kuri is a very experienced band surgeon and has a great bedside manner he will give you his cell phone number and will answer the phone personally, or call you back right away. Great Surgeon! Great Choice!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
