June 2013 Sleevers! "The List"

Recommended Posts

Hi all! I've been having problems posting.. But have read everything everyone has written. Thank you all for everything you've written because this forum has really answered so many of my questions and alleviated my fears more than anything. I am grateful for each of you!

My surgery is tomorrow afternoon so I will stay in overnight. I am just ready to have it over so I can stop worrying about the "what its". Has anyone had the thoughts of what the heck am I doing? I'm sure everyone at one time or another. But some days it just paralyzes me...like this morning. Argh!

I have been feeling exactly the same way. I started a blog yesterday and it really helped me when I wrote a post about how I got to my current weight and why I am doing this. It helped shift my thoughts from what might go wrong to what the outcome might be like (which of course will be awesome). I wish you the best of luck and do something nice for yourself it may distract you. :)

Lisa!! I'll be praying for you. You will be fine. Take it easy. Day 3 was my worst day and today I feel 75%. It gets better everyday. Good luck and keep me posted.

Thank you! Keep letting me know how you're doing too! When was your surgery?

June 19

Go search June 19, it's a thread I started and I update how my days are going. If I find a trick that helps I've been adding it. I hope we can help each other learn how to make this new tool we have work!!

Day 6 postop...had doc appt, healing well, gained a pound but doc said its expected. Spirits are good, getting liquids in and quite a bit of Protein. On liquids till monday start some pureed meats and veggie about 2 ounce which I'd 2 tbsp...I too believe keeping postive helps so much and following the rules on preop diet makes a differences also. Always remembering everyday gets better and read all you can on the post its a life saver...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
