Seasoned Sleevers (1yr+) and Stalls

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone!

I have been doing pretty well lately except for one thing, stalls! I wanted to talk about stalls with those of you that are farther out.

I am over a year post op and have been in a terrible stall for 3 months now. I have stayed at 168 no matter what! I haven't lost any inches/sizes during this time either.

I have tried upping my cals to 1200 and lowering to 700. Nothing! I have tried super low carb, I drink at least 70 oz Water daily and bike everyday for about 3 miles.

This is the smallest I have been in 10 years and I really want it to budge!

Anyone else had a stall like this? What did you do to break it?

EDIT: I get around 80 - 90 grams a day!

The only thing I didn't see you mention was Protein. Where are you on that? If you're at around 50-60, I would recommend upping that to 80-100 gm per day. Sorry for your frustration & I hope it breaks soon.

Hi Deb! I get around 80 - 90 grams a day no problem, so I don't think it is that! I just edited my post to include that! Thanks :)

I am 15 months out and haven't lost anything since the end of December. In Feb I decided to go into maintenance mode and be happy with my 122 pound loss. I went up to 80-90 g of Protein and 1200-1500 calories depending on my activity level. Last week I dropped my calories back down to 1000 and increased my activity but only slightly. When I did my weekly weigh in this morning I had lost another 3 pounds! Just 5 pounds away from the third goal I had set for myself, a Fantasy goal loss of 130 pounds which will put me at the same weight I was when I got married at age 22!

My advice is to let your body stabilize a little and then ATTACK again. Keep it guessing. Changing your routine, the type of exercise, the time you exercise or even when or what you eat can make the difference. I let my body get comfortable where it was so it didn't want to fight me! Then I change the rules! haha!! Let me know how it works!!!

Thanks MelodyMouse and Ooffa! I will try to mix it up a bit!

I was thinking a sugar detox might be needed too!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
