I don't understand??? I am losing inches, top size 2xl down to large, pants 20 down to 14. Shoes 8 down to 7. Been working out 4-5 times/week zumba or insanity, running 2miles/day, eating 800-900 calories, drinking fluids and Protein, using MfP. Weigh loss 30lbs is the same since 1st month post-op? What am I doing wrong? Surgery Jan 16. Weight 200 and now still 170. I know I am smaller, and all my clothes are so big now, but why is the scale not moving??? Help! I exert a lot of effort in eating healthy and exercising, but am feelin really lost and disappointed now.

Sounds like although you are burning fat, you are building muscle...which weighs more then fat! That's a good thing, muscle helps you burn fat! The scale will catch up...just keep going & don't get frustrated!

You're doing great! And I believe you should keep doing what you're doing!

Muscle does not weigh more than fat but it takes up less space. A pound of muscle is MUCH smaller and denser than a pound of fat. A pound is a pound. You could definitely be replacing muscle for fat which is why the scale is not moving.

ShrinkyDinkMe22 is right, a lb is a lb...what I meant was in comparison to size! Your replacing bulky fat with lean muscle...which is prob why you are getting smaller, but weigh the same.

Oh my goodness! This picture helped me understand, I really hope this is the case because I don't even know what else to do. Thanks for explaining and the encouragement!!!

Thanks! Will just keep doing what I am doing! I don't think I can eat any less. I did that before and I am always tired and fatigued. I am happy that I can be active now and do all the things which I can't do before. Will just have to stay positive.

See if your gym has a body composition scale. The one at my gym told me how much my bones and organs weigh (so never going to be smaller than that) it also tells you how much fat and muscle you have and how many calories you burn not doing anything lol. Hope it helps :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
