It didn't hit me till around the three month mark. I get in all my Protein and take Biotin and I am still loosing my hair. I was told to expect to loose it for 6-8 weeks so I am hopefully I only have two weeks left. I don't loose a ton at once' date=' mostly with hair washing and then a hand full of strands here and there. I notice that my hair is thinner but not patchy or anything like.[/quote']

My story exactly ;)

I am 3 days away from 6 mos and started losing my hair around the 4 1/2 mo mark. I believe it is inevitable, there are people here that did everything by the book and still lost hair. I prepared myself because I had a hard time getting Protein in. Thankfully, it is only temporary! :)

Does it have anything to do with how fast you lose? I'm a slow loser, 1 month post op & only lost 13 pounds, so I'm hoping it won't be as bad for me....I have really thin hair already :(

I thought that losing slow would lessen it...

I just hit 60 pounds in almost 6 months ...

But you know what! It's not that bad, it's a small price to pay and it's not so bad. I'm not hiding in the house or anything! Please don't let this minor thing stress you out :)

I did every single thing I read in here, everything the doctor said to do and I still lost 1/3 of my hair. I used to sob in the bathtub holding it in my hands. It started about 3 months and went in strong for about 4 months. It was hard cause no matter how fat i got my hair was my pride. Now at 1 1/2 years out it is all growing back its about 4-5 inches long and all silver. How's that for irony? It seems every new hair came back grey.???? But it is very healthy and strong cause if the Vitamins. Not gonna lie it was a hard depressing time losing my hair and DDs at the same time.

Regarding losing hair....someone told me to use Rogain. The person told me that it won't grow new hair but will slow down or possibly stop the loss of the hair you already have. Has anyone tried it? Thanks.

The nutritionist told me it does have to do w/ how fast you lose. She said that the post-surg portions are so small that the body uses the Protein for the vital organs and that making new hair / fingernails gets left behind (so to speak). She did say that the loss eventually does stop though. She also said to be super strict about getting your Protein, although I know some people have and they still get the Hair loss.< /p>

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
