I had surgery in Dec and I still have an issue with salad. Lettuce and me are not friends, I can have little amounts, but it really bothers my stomach. So I eat tomatos, cucumbers, peppers and carrots(carrots and I have a love hate relationship as well...lol)

My doctor did not approve any salads till I was cleared for solids and even then said to go real slow. Good Luck!

I think its individual to what your tummy can handle. Ive heard that some have issues with the lettuce and it 'cleaned them out' if you know what I mean so I was excited to try some cause who cant use a good 'cleaning out' post op right? So I ate salad and nothing happened, I just had a salad. It sat fine with me, didnt bother my tummy at all. I would say just experiment when you doctor permits salads and stay close to a bathroom just in case things dont sit well :)

I'm 3 mos. post-op. I can eat small amounts of iceberg or romaine lettuce without any issues. My doc recommended shredded lettuce. I love spinach but can't eat it--if I do it gets ugly real quick :-(. Good luck!

4 months out and still no lettuce for me. I have had a little better luck with tiny slices of cabbage. My sister is 10 yrs out and she can barely touch lettuce still. So, kale steamed in chicken broth is my new best friend. Goes down easy and even my picky eaters will eat it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
