wave.gifHi, everyone...

I've only been on the forums for a few days, but I'm already so grateful for all the fantastic, helpful people I've met along the way. What an amazing resource for us new folks! I'm just starting out on my VSG journey, with a bariatric seminar and my first surgeon consultation under my belt. (Well, I think it's under my belt, kinda tough to see sometimes...) I'm 5'2" and have struggled with my weight since I was 18--I'm now 44, and ready for a new start. I'm hoping to have my surgery at some point over the summer, since I'm a middle school English teacher. *fingers crossed*

It's nice to find a group that's geared around the more vertically-challenged VSG patient.

I think the phrase someone used in one of the threads here--"fun sized sleever" is the perfect description! 2thumbs.gif

Hello from Connecticut! I never knew this "fun sized sleever" board existed---I saw it on someone's info block....I'm 5'1.and a quarter inches LOL My PCP always bumps it up to 5'2", but when he filled out the paperwork, I made sure he put 5'1" (since it's closer to the truth.....plus bumps up my BMI!)

Can't wait to be a healthier weight! Two more weeks before my last appointment......then the waiting game LOL

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
