I am in the hospital recovering from sleeve surgery. I'm in some pain and asked for something other

than what they were giving me via I'V. The nurse aded toradol l which is helping, but I've read many negative side effects from this medication. It's very harsh on your stomach and can lead to ulcers. Has anyone used this as a pre-op drug while in the hospital. I'll ask my surgeon as soon as I se him. Thanks.

I received iv and oral Tiraspol post op. no complications from the medication and controlled discomfort well. Only took the oral for 4 days post op. biggest concern I read about was getting iv push toradol. When infused at a rapid rate it can have some nasty side effects. Otherwise it's effects can be much like Advil on the gut but I never experiences that. Best if luck.

Toradol is a great drug that is often used in the hospital. As long as it isn't used for long (no more than 3 days), you should be fine. I'm a Toradol fan - works very well for pain for me.

Toradol is a great drug. It can burn when given IV if not pushed slow enough or if not diluted enough. Given IM it feels like a baseball some how got injected into your butt and left there. It works great for pain. It worked better for me than the Demerol and Morphine did and didn't make me nauseated like the other two did. You can take it by mouth for no longer than 5 days at a time and it can be given IV for 3-5 days as long as your kidney functions are monitored after 24 hours or so of every 6 hour dosing. Taken by mouth you do have to be careful of the effects it can have on your stomach but as long as it is not taken for a prolonged period of time you should be fine. (Sorry, I am in the medical field and have ordered it for lots of my patients. I have a new respect for it as well after getting it after surgery.)

I also received toradol while in the hospital, and didn't notice any side effects. It was way better than the morphine pump, which made me feel too loopy.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
