Holy, just looked at my surgery ticker and it's says 0 days! Not that I haven't been aware ALL day due to the clear liquid diet (STARVING!), but to see my little mermaid on the 0 mark freaked me out! lol Hoping all goes well. Started with wicked allergies yesterday. Hoping that's not a problem. Surgeries not til 12:15 EST so I guess I'll try to sleep late so I don't freak out watching my husband drink his coffee knowing that it will be a while before I can have any. Love coffee. I'll miss that more than food in the beginning. Well enough rambling. See y'all on the other side! Woot! Woot!

Stephen that's awesome! Sorry I'm getting back to you 3 days later but if you had your surgery yesterday I'm sure you understand why. Day after surgery was horrible however today I'm feeling pretty decent. A little advice would be to walk as much as you can. I hated walking in the hospital but as soon I got home I took a nap, had a few sips of Protein and got up for a SLOW 1 mile walk. I feel so much better moving. Hope all went well for your surgery! Check in and let me know how you made out

CoreyCan and everyone that has posted their support,

Everything went pretty well. I was in a lot of pain and once they stopped the IV Pain killer it was not long before I needed some of the liquid pain meds. I am home now and have some pain, moistly from gas and just keep walking so that it will go away.

Problem is that I have gained 12 pounds while in the hospital. I went in at 301 and got out at 313, I am sure its all Water weight from th IV but ist a little discouraging. I know that its temporary though. I have a great suppor system and i am sure the weight will fall off as I start as the water comes off and even more whenI get to excersising. Stephen

Hey Stephen! So glad you're home safe and sound :) So you're only a day behind me. I can tell you everyday gets a whole lot better. I'm feeling good today, lots of energy and stomach muscles are starting to feel better. As far as the gas, besides walking try drinking something warm and then walk around. It worked really well for me. I have made it a point to walk 1 mile everyday and I really think that's why I'm feeling so good. I walk slow but I always feel good when I get back and am sleeping better too. And ya gotta love the hospital weight gain, it will come off pretty quick once you're up and about again. Yay for us! We're on our way! Keep in touch and let me know how you're doing--Corey

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
