I am 1 week out from surgery and feeling fine. Went for my first post-op appointment and was down 12 pounds. That is a total of 20 since my pre-op diet two weeks ago. I am happy and look forward to some yogurt and protein shakes tomorrow.

Where do you live in Louisiana. I live in Lafayette after living in New Orleans my entire life. Katrina pushed us here.

My surgery is tomorrow. I am a bit nervous to start a new life's journey at age 63. I am an only child and do not have any real sisters to confide in. So I would love for any of you to be my SLEEVE SISTERS. I live in Louisiana and moved to a new city after Hurricane Katrina several years ago and left all my friends. I pray I am doing the right thing.

I am tomorrow too. Praying for both of us. I am not a coffee drinker but I do or did love diet Root Beer. I guess I am just afraid of the unknown but looking forward to becoming healthier.

I HAVE NOT TOLD ANYONE BUT MY HUSBAND AND TWO CHILDREN. My surgery is in the morning and I am very anxious and a bit nervous.

My surgery is April 17 and I have the same thoughts. Please help and let me know this journey is the right path. Scared about some of the posts I read.

I live in Lafayette but I have a condo in Baton Rouge Does this count? I was in Baton Rouge all day today. Do you all ever get together to chat and compare notes. My surgery is April 17 in Lafayette.

My husband said if it were him he would NOT have surgery. He loves to go out to eat and fears that we will never go out again.

I am getting sleeved on April 17. Yes, I am scared too. I read posts on here and get brave, then I read others and question if I really want to do this. I hope everything goes well with you and I hope we can get over the anxiety and realize that we will be ok. We have to put our lives in God's hands. Keep in touch and we can compare notes.

I do not plan to tell anyone other than my husband and children. I do not even want their spouses to know. I do too have a hernia under my navel but my doctor does not want to remove it at the same time as the sleeve. He even says I may not need to have it removed. I do not want friends to keep asking why I will be losing weight so much faster than I have been able to lose for the past 10 years. They knew me when I was thin and hopefully they will just think I have finally been successful. I am so grateful to have all of my "new " friends on this page who know the struggles and heartaches we have been dealing with for many years. As far as why I am eating so much less or not at all, I plan to say that I finally found a food plan that is making me lose weight using Protein shakes etc. I will be sleeved in three weeks and I am nervous about what is to come. Yes, I would love to have my friends at my side as I know they would be BUT I am not ready to share this journey yet with them. Let all of you be new friends that will understand each other.

I am scared too. I got my date yesterday, April 17 I would love to be a bunny to anyone who is interested. It is always nice to have a friend to hold your hand.
