Same here. Actually a few of my coworkers know' date=' and my family. I am in a RT program, and none of them know, but since I have lost 58 lbs since surgery, it's obvious. I told them I was limiting carbs and exercising. Maybe they suspect. I just don't think its anyone's business and I am choosy who I share it with.[/quote']

I agree. I am selective about who I personal info with because sadly, many people just want something to gossip about and don't care about your well being. Congratulations in losing 58lbs!! That's awesome!!

My coworkers know since its a small department of nurses. A casual friend remarked today on the weight loss and asked' date=' " I'm wrestling the beast" i told her and laughed. Then asked about her.[/quote']

I love that!! I may have to borrow that one!!

Remember that you are the same person before and after surgery' date=' so the co workers should accept you ether way. so if you want to keep it privet then let them mind the own business[/quote']

Very true. I haven't changed on the inside. Thank you for your advice!! Continued success on your journey!

I love the medically supervised/ diet & exercise explanation!! Think I'll go with that!! *clapping like we're on Family Feud* Good answers!! Good answers!! Thank you all!

I think that is vaguely honest enough.

My surgery isn't a secret but I'm not broadcasting it either. If someone asks I'll tell them. I'm hoping that after the surgery it'll be obvious. There are a couple of people who won't be afraid to criticize my decision but I really don't care that they don't agree, my life isn't about them.

I think it will be WAY easier to share after I've had the surgery. I'm very open and I'm sick of the "you're going where?!" (Mexico) and people thinkin I've just googled & booked on a whim.

After tho, when people ask I will gladly tell them. It may even help someone else who can't afford to have it done here in nz ($17,000)

I've told lots of my friends and a few professors. Some immediately say- great good for you. Others shake their head, but after I explain stuff they are cool with it. I always start with, " I know I will have your support, I always can count on you. " works like a charm. But what I plan to tell others is, I finally figured out what works for me. And must be the diabetes ;-)!!! If and when people find out it will be too late for their opinions. After so long- I'm doing something for me.

I haven't returned to work yet had my surgery on April 9th. My family knows and about 3 friends that I can trust. Other than that I'm not telling it's not their business and personally I don't want any1 giving me input how how and what I should be doing now that I've started my journey. I don't no abt u all but this weight loss has been a struggle for me for many years. I don't need any judgement or advice now.

I work with alot of great people and most of them knew I was going in for surgery. I was in the mindset that God called me to do this surgery because nothing else had worked, and this was the path he wanted me to take. I am not a person who broadcasts my business, but I also saw no reason to hide it. Im proud of the weight loss I have had and although I did the surgery to primarily get off my medicines and get healthy Im also looking forward to looking amazing so I would tell anyone that asked that I had surgery

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
