Band to Sleeve Revision Process

Recommended Posts

All of my paper work has been sent in including my Insurance approval, Psych evaluation, labs, food journal, two completed quizzes, Lapband Surgeon's notes and sleep study reports. After all the paperwork is reviewed and it's determined complete, (please, please be complete!) I will have my first appointment with the Nurse Practitioner and Dietitian. I need to complete two visits with each and lose 15 pounds before I meet with the Wizard of Oz also known as the Surgeon! This is quite the process!

I am a lapband to sleeve pre-op, too, but my process was less tedious than yours. I did all that pre-op stuff with the lapband, but with the sleeve I only had to revisit the dietician and get a medical clearance from my primary doctor. No psych eval, no pulmonary clearance etc. I did standard pre-op last week and I'm all set for surgery in 4 days. Isn't it interesting how requirements differ amongst surgeons? My pre-op liquid diet is only 2 days. From what I've read here, 2 weeks is more common. Either way, it is "quite a process" to revise and I pray it's worth every minute of it for all of us. All the best!

Moonchild, I will be thinking good thoughts for you for your surgery and can't wait to hear about your success. RAA, sounds like you are well on your way too. Best wishes to both of you....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
