I'm pre-op and I have bought a case of Premier Protein shakes for post-op. I hope the smell doesn't make me sick after surgery as well. I also bought Unjury vanilla, chicken Soup, and unflavored just in case. I hope you find something that doesn't make you nauseous.

Try Chike..you can google them, then call the 800 number and they will send you some samples. I got the choc, vanilla, and strawberry, and they are sort of like a milkshake. Taste is good, not gritty, and it comes in dry powder you can take with you and mix with Water on the go. One serving is about 28 grams of protien. Try it, you'll like it!

I couldn't stand protien shakes while on full liquid.now that I am on soft foods I drink them for meals and love them. Stomach takes a while to start to feel normal again.

Chike shakes are great. I've also found Syntrax Nectar shakes - they have all kinds of flavors (lemon tea, apple, cherry, etc) that are very light and can be mixed with Water. They have been my saving grace. Had pink grapefruit this morning - yummy!! I get them from BJ's Bariatrics (online) and you can order a sample pack that you make up yourself. Quick shipping, too. Ordered some more mid-week and they came yesterday.

Do they mix up thin? I don't like a thick protien shake.< /p>

Yes - that's exactly why I like them. I mix them with about 12 oz. of Water and some ice. You could even do more water if you wanted to. They really have saved me. I think if I had to have vanilla and chocolate all the time I wouldn't have made it to this point. After today, 4 more days till puree!!!

I like them more watery. I will get some nectar tomorrow and give it a try.

I drink the EAS carb control. 3 carbs and 17 Protein. The vanilla is thin. I could never stomach the thick ones :-/

Not sure if you have these or not, but the new packaging for the Premier Protein shakes has a twist top in it. I had trouble with the smell before they came out with the twist top too. Maybe you can try a straw, it will take your nose a little farther from the smell.

I am a week after surgery and I've had great success with Bariatric Advantage Latte and Orange Cream flavored shaked. They mix up completely with only a bottle shaker so I don't have to use a blender which can add extra air. More or less Water to change consistency.

Amazon has the orange on sale with free 2 day shipping for Prime members. These are big bags.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
