Should the Moose Stay or Go?!

Recommended Posts

That should get some attention! I am excited to be preparing for surgery in Cancun in June. I noticed that many sleevers have suggested bringing a post-op pillow for after surgery. I had gallbladder surgery years and years ago, and as I recall, a pillow probably would have been helpful. So I have been searching for one on the internet—better to be prepared I think. I found 2 choices, a roundish bariatric pillow with a picture of the surgery (eeew!) or a cute Teddy Bear or moose (Bari Buddy by Teddy-Tech). So of course I ordered the moose (what girl can resist a teddy bear). It is cute as…well, a teddy bear. But the thing has a big snozz. My DH is very supportive, but he took one look at it and said, “Are you going to have to pack that?” Now, he will never say anything that is not supportive, but I know what he was thinking! So for those of you who have had the surgery, is a pillow worth the effort? I’ve already decided if I keep it, I’m going to have to get it an I Heart Cancun t-shirt. Then I can carry it back on the plane and say it’s for my grandson!!! What do you guys/gals think?

My sister-in-law brought me a very small rectangular pillow the day after surgery. I named it Baby Pillow. It and I were best buds for about 4 weeks. Perfect for just a bit of support or to tuck together with a larger pillow. Don't know what I would have done without it.

keep the moose.......be proud....besides that way they will be more concerned with your moose than the fact you are moving slower due to surger!!

Do not pack the moose with you to mx and back; I know the pillow you're talking about because I really wanted one to take with me as well! You will want to schlep only what is essential, especially on your way home. There is no way to predict how you will be feeling after the surgery, but if you are even a little under the weather dealing with one more thing in your bag will be an aggravation. Pack light!

However, once you get home, the moose will be awesome and I would definitely get him/her a T-shirt!

I say take it. I took a small pillow with me and am glad I did. I used it in the hospital and after when traveling

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
