How did you tolerate a long flight home?

Recommended Posts

In the process of connecting to my flight home. I had 2 1/2 hours to catch the first one. Then Dallas has that train thing. I refuse to sit down until I have to. I've been walking this entire layover. First flight

3 hrs. Second flight 1hour and 25 mins. It's not bad.

To add.... I had a terrible flying experience...extended delays that kept me in the airport for 3 hours. The flight back home from Dallas was AWFUL and I did fine. I'm telling you, I couldn't get off that plane fast enough.

I booked an extra day in the hotel just to be on the safe side. I was two nights in the hospital and then three nights in the hotel. I had absolutely no problems with my San Deigo-Boston flight. I just made sure my carry on was very light and I checked my bag with my clothes in it. Walking around the airport was no problem at all and I didn't have to rush at all since my driver got me there about two hours before my flight. I bought three bottles of Vitamin Water zero's once I was through security and I drank one while waiting for the plane and the other two while I was in flight (yeah, I never had a problem drinking)

Really I was DREADING flying both before and after surgery but ESPECIALLY after... it really wasn't bad at all.

I was quite comfortable on the plane. The seatbelt goes around the lower abdomen and you don't have any incisions lower than your belly button so the seatbelt was not uncomfortable in the slightest. I got an aisle seat so I could get up and walk a LOT during the flight since I am petrified of developing DVT

I fly home tomorrow from San Diego, so I'm happy to see this thread.

Serendipity - I wish I could drink like that. My baby sips aren't amounting to anything.

I did not fly but I did have a 12 hour ride home. Dr told me to stop every 3 hours and walk for 15 min. 7 days post op today and no issues from the drive.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
