Shelbi- Girl

Don't forget to get your toes done, have your camera by your scale and be ready to snap that picture when you hit Onederland!

I loved it when I hit Threederland! (is there such a word?)

I took like 10 pictures til I got one that was clear!

My toes are so cute next to that 396! One day I was 401, the next I was 396! I totally skipped 399! NOT complaining!

Just be ready, you're so close!:wink2:

I plan to take my scale out near the dock the day I hit 299. I'll aim my camera and take a nice photo of my toes on that scale...which are painted art deco by myself at the moment.

I so want to be in the 200's it will be a HUGE success for me.

I wish I could do my own toes!

I tried once, they looked like a Kindergardener had done them with a huge blunted crayon!

ARGH!

I can't wait to get to the 200's! The day I arrive at Twoderland, you'll hear me screaming with joy all the way over at your place in Florida, Lapdancer!

Hi Banders - Just checking in. I'm feeling good and can't believe I've already had the surgery because there is very little pain. Today is my last antibiotic day and so far have made it without any mishaps (you know what I mean?) I'm experimenting with the Protein Drinks since I still have a little while without "real" food and have found a few things that I can handle. I have not lost ANY weight since the surgery. I didn't know how long it would be before I started. I'm guessing my body thinks I'm going to starve or something. I have been hungry some but a few sips of Soup or whatever takes care of it pretty fast.

Reading all of your posts is a bright spot in my day. Thank you for your positive notes and your honesty with your struggles. You have already talked me through some tough spots. I'm going to add my stationary bike to my exercise tomorrow. Walking has been it for me since surgery but I think in order to see the scale move I'm going to have to move more first! Sidney

Hi Everyone,

Planning on a trip to Seattle for a couple of days. Introducing Ed to my brother and family. Things here are good, however, less food focused. Still on the exercise thing. I am wanting to do the group diet thing when I come back, to jump start more weight loss. I admire you all.

About the toes, I love getting them and my nails done. It is a gift that I love giving myself. I am so proud of you. So many are working your programs and dropping the pounds.

i still take a bite too many when I am eating something I like. Then the PB comes and I say STUPID....stupid.....stupid

Dynamo~Have a fun and safe trip! Check in when you get back!

Lap~you should sooo take a picture of your toes, I would love to see that art work! How was the meeting with the trainer? I would like to hire a trainer...maybe someday, they are too pricey for me!

Dee~Day 2 of the PB diet...LOL, PB diet! Yesterday was fine until after my workout! i still made it, but I was not a happy camper!

Today, so far:

B~Atkins shake

S~2HB eggs

L~meatballs and cheese

S~?

D~?

S~?probably Atkins shake

No gym today and probably no walk either...I have a lecture right after work and won't be home until after 10!

Sidney~Sounds like you are healing well. Don't worry about the weight loss yet, let your body heal.

Hi Kidlings!

I just got back from Safeway! I was starving! AND voila, they have their little Peanut Butter tasting area AND I remembered that I can eat Peanut Butter on the Plateau Buster diet! So I did! It hit the spot!

Mal: Good girl! You did great yesterday! I know you had a hard time after returning from the gym, but you were victorious! That is what you need to focus on! You got through the first day! BRAVO! I promise it gets easier!

I can't believe you missed your One year Bandiversary! Happy Bandiversary Ms Mal! Congrats on completing your first year! You look wonderful and I know you have been granted a whole bunch of NSV's!

Michelle: Hey, Lovergirl! I missed you at RR this last time! It's not the same without you! My daughter and I are going to Seattle so I might PM you and you can tell me where I should avoid getting a hotel! It's so hard when you make reservations online, you never know where you'll end up! I remember staying in Flagstaff one summer, our hotel was practically on the railroad tracks! What a nightmare! We couldn't get an hour of sleep! Toot Toot!!!

I'm so glad to hear things are going well with the man in your life!

Minidriver: You can be sappy all you want! I know I appreciate everyone here! They are very sincere and very caring! Good people! BTW, we're glad you found us and Dr. K! Be careful on the bench - Shelbi can't keep her hands to herself! She's totally out of control with the poking and pinching! I think she needs to go to the Naughty Chair! (you know, I love you Shelbi!)

Sidann: Don't worry about the scale right now. I gained after surgery from all the Fluid in my IV's -- then I didn't lose for a while. I looked at my excel spreadsheet the other day and saw how I went up and up during that time. All in all the trend started downward around the 3rd week -- then when I started solids it went up again before heading back down. It's a time to heal! Don't work out too hard on your bike yet, Dr. K told me 3 weeks to let my body heal before I could ride my bike.

Well, gotta go Ladies! (I'm not referring to JT anymore, since he NEVER comes here! Brat Boy!):cursing:

Be good!

dee~

Thanks, Dee. And I'll be sure to watch out for Shelbi!!

I'm working on my bench behavior.

Honestly. I am. :biggrin2: :out:

I like sappy! No apologies required for sharing your emotions here.

Everyone -- I've got my toes ready. Need to get new batteries for my camera. (They ran out last night at school awards thingy. :wink2:) And need to get the scale to cooperate.

Hold on to your hats everyone. Husb has joined me on my morning walk for the last four days. This is an amazingly big deal for us. He has also lost 14 pounds in the last 2 months. I am so happy for him! (It took an ER trip with a MI scare and new blood pressure medication and a eye-opening changes in his lack of blood sugar control, but whatever, we'll take it.)

Have a great day everyone! I've got a 12 hour shift ahead of me. Yippee!

Hi Guys...

Yes, I am alive. Busy as all get out, but still alive and kickin'!!! We have been crazy busy with all the baseball, but I am lovin' it! My oldest just made the legion team, my 2nd qualified for a tourney in DISNEYWORLD!!! Don't know if we will go, but the beach would be a huge motivator and my 8 year old is going to Omaha to play. WHEW!

The scale is S...L...O...W...L...Y creeping back down and I am getting impatient. I went in for a fill last Thursday, it is still a tad loose (I got my period the next day, so I was tight). But I am plugging away!

Where can I get the info on the plateau buster diet? I want to join and give my fanny a kick!!

You gals are all rockin'! I just love you!!

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
