Can't Really Feel my Fill from Yesterday...

Recommended Posts

I am 4 weeks post-op and I received my first fill yesterday of 1.5cc. yesterday I felt a little restriction. I was worried about getting overfilled so I didn't get a big fill. However today, I feel less restricted. Not sure why?

Just give it some time. I never feel it until 6-10 later. Everyone is different. If after 2 weeks you don't feel it, you are still hungry, and can eat too much, call for another fill.

Fluctuation is very normal---it may kick in to where you feel restriction, after a few days, and you may end up needing another in a few weeks. It all depends on the size of your stomach, if you swell following the fill (which is likely why you felt it immediately and not now), and even how the other tissue in your body is reacting at the time. Like many women are much tighter with their fills during TOM. So just follow your Dr.'s guidelines, with eating following the fill, and see how it goes, it is the first step in the fill process, it may take a few more adjustments--but you are on your way!! Congrats!!!

Thanks for the reply. I can feel a little tightness in my chest, but I can eat WAY more than I could yesterday.

I read in another thread that sometimes the band absorbs some of the saline the first fill. Since my Dr. doesn't do any fill during the surgery, and since I only received around 1.2 ccs I wonder if the band absorbed some of the little bit they put in...

I get my first fill in the morning, but everyone I have met who has a band has told me that their fills don't seem to 'kick in' for 6-10 days.

Don't feel bad about not having restriction. I have a 4.0 cc band. I got my fourth fill last Wednesday. It looked tight as far as the Fluid going down on the flouro and it seemed tight when I drank Water immediately afterwards, but by the time I went back on solid foods on Friday I had amd still have absolutely NO restriction. My band only holds 4.0 cc's! What if I get filled to 4.0 cc's and I still have no restriction? I am on my second band. I had a slip with the first one. My fill doctor says that my new band is in the perfect position so that shouldn't be a problem. On my first band I was a little too tight at 3.0 cc's! I had a hard time drinking! What could be making such a big difference this time around? Any ideas out there?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
