Liquid diet cheaters

Recommended Posts

This has been the absolute worst week ever. I cheated everyday on this diet. Not by much though. I'm supposed to have 3-5 high Protein Shakes a day, I miss my food funeral because it wasn't just a food funeral, it was how I are everyday...

Day 1- Don't even ask

Day 2- Grilled chicken patty with bottom bun

Day 3- Same as day 2

Day 4- 5 pieces of beef Jerky

Day 5- just started but it isn't looking good

Getting sleeved on Wednesday, someone get me in check please

How about I threaten to go over to Texas and kick your ass!! :P

Come on you can do this. I did it for gods sake!

It is not the end of the world, it's just a few days of cutting out solids.... Drink all five of those shakes. And don't cheat!

My word!

I cheated as well on my liquid diet. Try your hardest to stay on track today. The other thing I did was drank a bottle of magnesium citrate. You need to stay focused today through your surgery date Wednesday. I know how hard it is. If I did it. You can do it. Don't risk the chance of them canceling your surgery because of your cheating. Good luck, it's worth it. I'm 11 months out and have lost 115 lbs.

You only have a few more days,so try to stick to it. Just think it'll help give you a smoother surgery and you do want that don't you?

You are not ready to have the sleeve stay home if it does not work now it will not work after.

Would you rather eat now or have piece of mind that you did everything you could to prepare for a successful surgery and smooth recovery? Personally I am not afraid to admit I was scared shitless of being operated on but I felt calm knowing my body was the absolute most prepared It could be. Now start fresh with a new attitude, punch today in the face, and quit eating ha.

I walked/jogged everyday to try to burn off those extra calories. I must say, I'm down 6 pounds already from day 1!!!

That's not necessarily true. I cheated as well. More than one time. I am so focused now. I am almost a year out and have lost 115lbs. I workout all the time and eat sensibly.

Don't give up. Stay focused. You can do this!!

Laura!!! Your violent!!! I'm have an appointment today and I'm gonna be honest with the doctor!

One of the things that my Dr. told me was the main reason he made folks go through the pre-op liquid diet, was to give them some time to fully understand their relationship with food and eating. He felt that if they could reconcile their relationship with food pre-op then post-op their chances for success long term are much better. It's like quitting smoking or any other bad habit, cold turkey isn't going to always the be best route. The pre-op diet gives you that opportunity to get your head in the right spot so that post-op your recovery will be a lot better. While I can't say that you are or aren't ready for the sleeve, since I don't know you personally, I do think you really have to think more in the long term. Being sleeved is tough and it is a hard thing to go through just on its own. You have to divorce your relationship with food and learn that eating is not a hobby or a way of life, it is only to sustain your life and that seems to be a hard thing for a lot of people to do. We all have our weaknesses or else we wouldn't be here, but that doesn't excuse the fact that you are about to go through a pretty significant life change and need to do so with your eyes wide open. You are either ready for it or you aren't. I hope that you get back on the plan that the Drs. have set out for you and I wish you nothing but success in the journey.

Yep, I agree.. It's ass kickin' time!

You have three days to zone out and go into super mode. Trust me.. If we can do it, you can too. Need to set your mind right and focus on your health and the reason you're having this surgery. Zone, zone, zone.. It's time for a chance for a better you!

Now move it! .. Just not your hand to mouth though :P

Oh please. A completely liquid diet is extremely tough and before surgery (when you know that you can eat anything) it is very difficult. A few cheats here and there does not mean you will not be successful post surgery-it means you're human and obviously if strict/extreme diets alone could change your relationship with food then none of us would need to be sleeved in the first place. I do agree that you have to change your relationship with food in order to be successful long term, but you slipped up a few times, JC. Move on and stick as closely as you can for all liquids for the next 2 days prior to surgery! (I'm also on the 20th!) Good luck to you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
