Im 2 days out and so far so good. Pretty sore, but having a pretty good evening. Water still a challenge, but had hernia fixed during surgery and everything is really tight. Should get easier as swelling goes down. Better days ahead. Good luck all.

I go in at 7:00. I know I won't sleep either but so ready to get this weight off!! Good luck and keep me posted on how your doing.

my surgery is at 8:00 am but I have to be there at 6:00 am...don't think I will sleep much at all either Sunday night...did shopping today for my post-op needs..have y'all done that already? what did you buy? what is your plan for tomorrow? I can eat a light Breakfast before 10:00 tomorrow morning, then Clear liquids the rest of the day with nothing at all after midnight

tonight was my niece's birthday, and I went out to eat with the family...it was my last real meal pre-op...we went to Carrabba's, and I had Sicilian chicken Soup , some bread, chicken parmesan with angel hair Pasta, and one spoon/taste of my niece's ice cream dessert...I think that was a fitting "last" meal--good food and with my family

I am here at the hospital 2 days post op. i will give you some insight to my experience..first off, i am in mexico at Hospital MI doctor. the facility here is adequate..not super advanced like what i am used to in the states but its enough. the doctors were fantastic and most of the nurses have been great. with all that being said, i am in a bit of pain still, though its not constant pain. i am not even sure why..it may be this drain, gas, or just stomach..not sure but seems common among the other sleevers on the floor. the xray leak test was awful..drinking the barium made me vomit almost...a necessary evil..one thing i was not prepared for...i am drinking juice now but it hurts every single time i sip it..doctor says this is normal and should stop after a week..any experience with that? i didnt have the left should pain but have had gas pains..they last for a few seconds then pass. i have walked and honestly havent had to use the gas x as much as i read on here that others do. im happy to be getting the drain and iv out today. my iv hand is swollen and my belly is swollen still from gas though im tooting and burping it out little by little..other than that, i feel pretty ok...in all honestly i did wake up from surgery wondering what the hell i just did to myself but i am sure the results will make the hard work worth it..good luck guys

You are my newest rock star. I love the post you just did. I am still pre-op, was hoping for a May date, but only a miracle can make than happen now. Anyway, you gave such a complete, no holds barred account of your experience, I am sure it will help many people. It certainly helped me!

You have just done at least 1 month (maybe more) of community service, so in case you get arrested for being too excited about your success, you can say you've already done the time!

I love your description of passing gas (tooting and burping). I'm a big tooter because I have IBS. I can only imagine (with dread) how noticeable it will be after surgery. Then I'll have a whole 'nother different reason for hiding in my apartment. LOL

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
