Best high protuen foods to eat

Recommended Posts

To dry fry' date=' I cut up my tofu and slow fry it with no oil or butter on a non stick griddle or you can use a cast Iron pan. I fry it on a lower heat to get the moisture out and crisp it up.

Tofu isn't really high in carbs, I buy mine at trader joes...

Also after you dry fry it you can do different things with it...like marinade in anything (it is tasteless so will soak up any flavor) and stir fry with veggies

I like it marinaded sometimes but I will also eat it just straight from the fridge cold after dry frying it

:)[/quote']

Thank you!!

Korean tofu Soup is a good way to eat tofu. My favorite is silken tofu with chopped green onion tops, grated fresh ginger, and ponzu drizzled on it. It is low carb, low cal, and soft. I hope when I am sleeved I will be able to tolerate it bcuz its one of my favorite foods.

I love all the ideas. Keep them coming . When can you start eating beef Jerky? I see a lot on that? What kind?

I actually eat turkey jerky because its a lot less fat. Only .5 per serving and bags I buy (Jack Links) have 3 servings so even if I ate the whole bag which would take me all darn day, its only 1.5 fat. It does have more sodium then other foods but I do not have high blood pressure, drink cup after cup of green tea all day long and dont add salt to any other food so I justify it that way to myself lol.

Jack Links makes 100-calorie bags of Jerky. I buy them in bulk at BJs. 17 or 18g of Protein per bag and keeps me from having to stare at a large open bag. Yeah, it's high in sodium, but such is life. :) I started eating it as soon as I was released to solid - solid food. Just chew thoroughly.

I was making some today and though of you! I saw another poster talked about silken tofu..

That is good for Soups and such but has a real watery consistency you want extra firm for dry frying and such..

Wow cool- what's it taste like, like that??

I'm scared to eat! I'm 2 days shy of being 3 weeks out but I'm still doing liquids only with a yogurt sometimes and blackbeans with laughing cow cheese

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
