One month out, pain in largest incision

Recommended Posts

I have been having pain in the largest incision (where stomach was removed). It is getting better with time but when I move a certain way it burns, feels like it's cramping, pulling underneath the incision. I went to my one month check-up yesterday and asked the doctor. He said there are sutures underneath the incision and they go down deep into the abdomen and that's why it feels the way it does and that with time it will disappear. I told him it wasn't anything I can't handle but just wondering why it hurts sometimes and no one else seems to be having the same issue. There are 17 of us at work who have had the surgery in the past year.

Just wanted to let anyone, who is having this problem, know that this pain is normal and don't worry, nothing is wrong! :)

That pain is annoying, but it will go away soon. I'm having similar pains since my gallbladder came out in February, but I somewhat expected it. Just don't move in ways that aggravate the stitch until it heals and you should be okay. :) Looks like you're doing great already! 24 pounds gone forever!! :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
