feb 2013 sleevers weigh in

I must be a slow loser but I haven't done any workouts of any kind... so 10 pounds... for the first month doesn't seem good at all. Any advice would be appreciated thanks dears. And I totally forgot about me one week check up to add that so down 18pounds and 20 on pree op diet.. fun fun.

I am 4.5 months post op Sleeved Feb 27 SW 265 (also highest weight ever) CW 205 so today I am officially halfway to goal...my comfortable weight is 145ish. People are really starting to make comments' date=' although one comment did not thrill me " It looks like someone deflated you" lol. OK. Not exactly what I was going for. But I am happy, I can exercise more freely. All the old clothes in my closet that I used to squeeze into or couldn't get into anymore fit now or are too big. Before, I would not buy anything above a size 18 (in denial big time) but it should have been a 22. Now I wear size 16. I look in the mirror and see this thinner version of me.. and it stops me for a second, and honestly, although I lived most of my life as a skinny girl, it shocks me. Also, Its weird how you see ppl and you know they notice your weight loss and they don't say anything. Thats always awkward. Its usually other heavy girls, they don't want to acknowledge or approach the subject I guess. Anyway that's my halfway point update. Thanks for listening to me ramble on for probably too long.. :) [/quote']

It's funny I get that awkward comment or stare from other women sometimes too! But mostly it's positive excitement from others. Congratulations on your weight loss!

5 months post op today down 54.6lbs, 71.6lbs with the 3 week pre op diet. I'm feeling like I'm losing more muscle then fat which suck. I really need to get motivated to exercise more often.

Starting weight 287

Surgery weight 270

Current weight 215.4

I'm 5'7'

I feel flabby and I feel like I'm getting thicker, like I'm losing muscle but gaining fat.I haven't been good at tracking my calories lately or exercising. It's been a stress full couple months. I know I'm getting enough Protein in, but never cone close to my Water goal.

Sugary 2/20/13

I'll be 5 months post op on 7/20

Starting weight: 356

Current weight: 281.2

Total lost: 74.8

I hit a stall throughout most of may and June but recently started losing again.

From last Saturday I went from 290 to 281.2 today. So 8.8 pound weight loss in a week.

I didn't have to do a pre-op diet so I didn't lose any weight before surgery.

My goal is to lose at least 5 pounds if not more each week.

Goal is to lose 25 pounds by 8/25/13

5 to my surgeons goal. I am thinking I have anywhere from 40-70 until my final goal. I plan to play it by ear and see where I am most comfortable.

My biggest piece of advice is to listen to your body. It took a few months for me to stop eating once i felt satisfied. Early out, I would eat to clear my measured amount or until I was uncomfortable. Now I stop at the first hint of fullness.

I make sure to eat lots of protein but I don't treat this as a diet. If I want something bad enough I will allow for it. I really love my sleeve because I can have 1-2 bites and be over the cravings. From time to time I will notice bad habits creeping back and I zap them quickly. Whenever my weight loss starts to slow or i feel like i am slacking i will cut back to the basics of protein and low carb.

The plan I've been following is 800-1000 calories, 60+ protein and under 70 carbs. I was on a stricter plan but my nut changed things after a few months since I had already lost a lot.

I also think it's important not to compare yourself to anyone else. I remember being so frustrated that I was behind everyone else. After the crazy beginning loss, I've been averaging anywhere from 1 to 3 pounds a week, about 11-12 a month. It doesn't seem like a lot but time is on our side, it's added up to huge numbers.
