  1. Wow, we are super close stats. I'm 5'5-5'6 depending who is measuring. You look fantastic!!!
  2. Wow, no commenting since March. I'm guilty that I use FB groups more than I come on here. Surgery 2/4/13 315 down to 170, I've been maintaining 170 since January. Even though I feel great at my weight and size I've decided to give 160 a go.

    Slow loser complaint

What are you calories at? And are you eating enough fat?

    Quest Bars

I wasn't a fan the first time I tried them. Recently I tried them again and they were pretty good. I like the cookie dough and cookies n cream. If you get tired of the bar, you can break it apart and bake. The cookie dough made 4 cookies for me, I can only eat about 1/2 a bar at a time and the 2 I saved tasted good a couple days later.

    Restriction Question for the Long-Timers

I reached my current capacity around 9-10 months. Some days I can do a little more and some days less. I aim for 2-2.5 oz protein and some vegetables at every meal. If I don't have anything dense on my plate I can do about a cup. ( 14 months post op)
  6. Looks like I'll be off the bench for awhile. The beauty of surgery is increased fertility. Which doesn't help when I was already pretty fertile. I'm hoping to use my sleeve to not gain too much but it's time to shift my brain from weight loss to growing a healthy baby. My first step is to find new vitamins. I've been sick every time I've taken them the past few days. The joys of morning sickness already.

  8. I always love a good pun. So I must admit that I've been shocked the last few days. I had given in that I'm to the point where I should not expect to lose big numbers and the last of my weight loss will be slow. Nope, not a chance so far. I've gone from 185 to 182 in a couple days. This reminds me of the early days out and has me more dedicated than ever. It has just gone to show me that if I treat my sleeve right, it will treat me right. I'm hopeful to be at 175 by march, honestly I would be thrilled if I can hit that by my one year mark. At my last apt my surgeon wasn't positive about reaching my goals, not that I couldn't do it but that the sleeve normally nets a 60% loss. I'm closing in on 85% and it feels great.

  12. I'm almost 9 months out and I have 30-40 more lbs to goal. I think it depends on what you set your goal at and what your starting weight it. I started at 315 and I've lost 120lbs. I did hit my surgeons goal by 6 months but refused that as my ultimate goal.
  13. Sleeved 2/4, hit 120 lb loss yesterday. Life is good. 30-40 to go
  14. My birthday was yesterday, the big 30. I prepped all week so I could go out and splurge. When it came down to it. I didn't. The worst I did was spilt a cupcake 3 ways and had 2 bites. I haven't worked this hard to throw away to food. Food will no longer be the celebration. I didn't care where we went or what we did. I was just excited to be with my husband and kids. To be blessed enough to live another year. This surgery gave me my life back, to me, that is the sweetest taste of all.
  15. I'm almost 9 months post op and I didn't have any major complications. Surgery was a breeze, I had a small skin reaction to dermabond but nothing terrible. Life is back to normal. Post op 315 Surgery 294 Today 197
  16. I has to come post. I made it to onederland today. So excited. I really do love my sleeve. 115 down since the start of my pre-op
  17. Mine come and go. I make sure to stay regular because they will flare up if I have to strain. It's been 4.5 years since I first got them ( long labor with my son) and I'm pretty sure their here to stay.
  18. I'm roughly 8.5 months post op and have lost 70% of my excess weight. It has been a snail pace since 6 months. I went back to shakes but never felt right, something was different and I can explain it. I lost a little for the few days but not enough to say it was from the shakes. This week I decided to follow the Atkins phase 1 plan for 2 weeks. I'm not paying attention to calories, only carbs and Proteins. Today is day 4 and I'm down almost 3.5 lbs from the start. I am full all the time since the foods are mostly Protein and my head it clear. Im past the withdrawal of sugar and the cravings are now gone. I plan to sick to this until I can get another 10% off. My goal is 80% excess lost by 1 year. Although I would love to be closer to 85-90% at 1 year. My plan from after this is similar to the basic diet, I will add back good carbs until I can find the balance of what I need to continue to lose.

    Best blender?

I have the ninja kitchen systems blends ice down to snow. I love it. Works great in the single serve or the 72 oz pitcher. Mine is the 1500 watt.

    Gaining too much

Everyone is different and certain bodies react to pregnancy differently. My first pregnancy I lost 3 lbs and my second I gained 7. It really just depends on your body. It sounds like you know you've been lax and that's something you can work on later. Enjoy the pregnancy, focus on protein and everything will work out. More often then not, you'll leave the hospital less than your pre pregnancy weight.
  21. Mines moving but I had to up my calories and carb cycle a bit. I need to lose at least another 15 before February to have 80% excess weight loss. That's the going number for someone who started out with my BMI. My surgeon said I wouldn't get lower than 60% EWL, I can't wait to go to my apt since I'm at 70% now. ....it's a long road but I'm here for the duration. It must feel awesome to be 20lbs from your goal. I can't wait to reach that.
  22. Today makes 8 months. I've slowed way down and I'm okay with that. I hit my clothing size goal but I'm still 30-45lbs from my weight goal.
  23. it's called monitor your weight.
