  1. Which doctor are you using? I’m getting sleeve to DS on March 14th at MI Hospital with Dr. Rodriguez.
  2. Getting the Duodenal Switch on the 14th
  3. I have an iPhone and use an app
  4. Still trying to get used to his new app. Kinda sucks. I hope all you Feb 2013 sleevers are doing great. I'm down 88lbs over all 70 from surgery on 2/19/13 feeling great still need to lose 30ish. Trying to get back on the wagon. I hate tracking my food but I know I need to.
  5. I used my insurance in the US, but if I had to doing over I would have just went to Mexico. It ended up taking a year to get my surgery and with the $1200 I had to pay for my out of pocket requirements and all the copays and the days I had to take off work to make all my pre-op appointments, 2 physic tests, 6 weigh-ins, 1 dietitian, 1 learn to exercise, 2 surgeon, all before I had surgery, I think the money part of it would have been the same, but I would have lost this 88lbs one year sooner. This is just my oppinon of course. I totally understand were you are coming from. My mom had it done in Mexico 3 weeks after she decided to do it. Which doesn't mean she hadn't been thinking about it for years.
  6. I hope everyone is doing great. It is awesome to see how everyone is doing. Keep up the good work. I'm so happy I made this decision I'm down 88lbs overall and 70 since surgery 2/19/13 yesterday when I stepped on the scale and it read 200.0, man I just want to hit my first goal lol it was like a big tease so hopefully the next time I weight I will be under 200 my next goal is 188lbs, I hope I can make it to 170 by 2/19/14. I know I should be better about tracking my calories and could be better about getting exercise in daily, but I also want to enjoy life and having to diet always depresses me. So I'll keep doing what I'm doing and hope it keeps working even if it is a slower loss.
  7. It looks like a lot of us have stopped losing. And now have to "work for it" which I don't really understand because by now most of us our professional dieters and know the basics. Why have we stopped losing if we are still eating way under the average persons resting calories. Have we really screwed up our metabolism that bad by our pre and post opt. diets? I am very happy with my 80lb weight loss but I am still in the obese category, which really sucks. Hopefully I'm just in a stall and will start losing again soon. But right now it sure doesn't seem like that's ever going to happen again.
  8. I think I lost my sex drive when they took my stomach out. Lol well I guess it could be all the stress I've had since my surgery. Either way, for me so far sex was better before. I hope that changes and I'm sure my wife does too. Glad to hear everyone else is having amazing sex. Keep it up. I'm 6 1/2 months post op.
  9. I wonder if all you slow losers aren't eating enough calories and your body is kind of in starvation mode?
  10. I feel flabby and I feel like I'm getting thicker, like I'm losing muscle but gaining fat.I haven't been good at tracking my calories lately or exercising. It's been a stress full couple months. I know I'm getting enough Protein in, but never cone close to my Water goal.
  11. 5 months post op today down 54.6lbs, 71.6lbs with the 3 week pre op diet. I'm feeling like I'm losing more muscle then fat which suck. I really need to get motivated to exercise more often. Starting weight 287 Surgery weight 270 Current weight 215.4 I'm 5'7'
  12. Not for everyone. My per op diet was only skim milk 3 times a day for 3 weeks. I did really well my first week, ok on my second week and then cheated almost once a day in the third week. BTW I hate milk so I knew this would be hard. I did lose 17lbs so it was worth it and I was really ready for the post op diet. I couldn't wait for a Protein shake. Lol my surgeon said his pre op diet isn't just for wls patients, it's the same diet they give to any one have abdominal surgeries. Good luck to everyone, do your best it will be worth it.
  13. I hope everyone had a great day. I was overwhelmed with emotions all day. It was such a historic day for gay rights. It makes me so happy that my marriage is now federally recognized.
  14. I'm totally having this problem. It sucks, I hope it goes away. Lol
  15. Refried beans, egg salad
  16. My tailbone has been hurting for over a month lol I hope I start getting used to it.
  17. My mom and her best friend or down there right now. They were sleeved on Wed. And Thurs. Sounds like everything is going great for them.
  18. Finally got an email last night. Sounds like things went well for my mom and we got the number for the hospital so I'll give her a call today to see how she is feeling.
  19. I've bought them at GNC, Supper Supplements and ordered them straight from there website.
  20. Me too. Guess I'll just stick to my melatonin.
  21. I'm sure they are all drugged up sleeping it off. I'll try and track down the docs coordinator in the morning.
  22. I know, I'm just up in Washington. But we tried to call multiple times with no success. So I figured maybe they don't have a full staff in the evenings.
