  1. Which doctor are you using? I’m getting sleeve to DS on March 14th at MI Hospital with Dr. Rodriguez.
  2. Getting the Duodenal Switch on the 14th
  3. Thanks for all the ideas now time to go shopping.
  4. I'm trying to find a place to buy some toddler or baby silverware. Does anyone know of a good place to look? I don't really want to buy plastic and all I can find in metal is like $20 for a spoon/fork/knife which I find is pretty spendy.
  5. Lol well I guess that makes sense I have ordered Dominos in the past. Maybe I should order some naked lady games, so food ads stop appearing.
  6. I just need to complain a little. I just saw an ad for Dominos. I found that a little odd. I know verticalsleevetalk.com need to make money but really Dominos!!!
  7. I met with my surgeon this morning and found out I get to have surgery on Aug. 15 and I have to start my skim milk diet on Aug. 1 I really didn't think it would happen this soon. I have had to do the whole 6 month doctor suppervised diet. It's is just hitting my all at once that I start my new life in a few days. I'm so nervous and scared. I know I'm making the right decision I just hope I don't fail in the long run. I was suppose to leave for a trip to Vegas on Aug. 15 but it looks like I'll have to cancel the flight hope they give me some kind of credit. I didn't want anything in my life to be more important then this. I can go back to Vegas later. Wish me luck. Thanks for all the info this website has given me. I feel really ready for everything.
  8. If you don't act ashamed of your choice then people won't really say much. You let then know that you are taking the steps you need to to become the person you want to be. It's worked pretty well for me. I've even turned a couple anti surgery guys into pro surgery after I explained all my pains and years of dieting and failure. I know not everyone is an open book like me but I think it helps people understand when you are more open about it. I can't wait for my surgery, just waiting to make my appointment with the surgeon. Good luck.
  9. You guys all sound lucky to me, all I get for my pre opt diet is skim milk, for 1 to 3 weeks. I have done Medifast and the food does suck but it was my favorite diet I always felt great when I was an it, just wished I could have stayed on it. Which is why I'm here now. Good luck to everyone. Just one step in our journey. It's WILL be worth it.
  10. It wasn't just the medical forms I found was strange it was the personal sounding info letter about why I should choose each doctor. They are word for word the same minus putting a different doctors name in. It just seemed weird.
  11. My mom talked to Omar Dr. Kelly's assistant yesturday. He was nice and sent the paperwork via email. I filled out something on Dr. Ponce's website and they sent their paperwork to my email. I guess that makes sense that they might have the same paperwork.
  12. So I'm doing a little research for my mother on getting surgery in Mexico and have contacted both Dr. Kelly and Dr. Ponce De Leon for info and pricing. What I recieved was the excact same informational letter and medical form. The heading and doctors names had been changed and the font, but other than that they were word for word. I just find this a little off putting. Do all of these doctors work together or something??? I just figured if they did and were in the same practice they would be contacted in the same manner and be on the same website. I am lucky enough to be able to have my insurance pay for my surgery which I get to have just across town. I just want to make sure I am finding out good info for my mother. Hopefully someone has some answers for me. Thanks. )
  13. I was having the same issue in the first couple visits for my 6 month wait. ugh So I decided to stop dieting for awhile, now that I'm a few months in I have started watching my calories, chewing more, and I'm trying not to drink while I eat. Which is REALLY hard. If your doctor is like mine I get my weight taken while my clothes are on so if it comes down to a pound or to I guess I can just slap on some ankle weights, LOL Good luck on your journey.
  14. Thank you all for your advice. I had pretty much decided I wanted to get the sleeve, but sitting here waiting for this 6 month doctor monitored diet. I have way to much time to worry I might make the wrong decision. Listening to everything you've had to say just reconfirms I'm making the right decision going with the sleeve. I can't waitl to get through all this red tape the insurance company is making me do. I just want to get it done so I can start my new life.
  15. Hi all, I'm in the process of choosing which weightloss surgery to have. I wanted to find out why some of you choose the sleeve over the others. My biggest concern is that if all of these procedures are just tools to help you loose wieght why not just get the less invasive Lapband. I'm really intertested in what you all think. Amie
